How To Reach Ranthambore

By Road

  • If you're coming from Delhi and want to go to Ranthambore National Park by road, follow NH 11A and NH8.
  • If you're coming from Jaipur, use SH 24.
  • SH 1 if you're coming from Agra or Bharatpur.
  • If coming from Udaipur or Allahabad, take NH 76.

By Train

Travel to Sawai Madhopur Railway Station, which is the closest train station to Ranthambore National Park, by taking a train from your closest train station. A second option would be to go 200 miles from the park to the Jaipur Railway Station.

By Air

To get to the Ranthambore National Park, use a private taxi or another type of vehicle from the closest airport, Jaipur International Airport. The airport is 200 miles distant.

Best Time To Visit Ranthambore National Park

The best time to visit Ranthambore National Park is from October through June. Because of the excessive rains, you should expect the park to be closed from July to September. The months of October through February are when it gets chilly in the mountains. It can get hot and muggy from March to June. It is advised to bring drinking water during the safari. Additionally, we advise dressing for the current weather. Always be ready for unforeseen precipitation.

Morning Shift

  • 06.30 am - 10.00 am (1st Oct to 31st Oct)
  • 07.00 am - 10.30 am (1st Nov to 31st Jan)
  • 06.30 am - 10.00 am (1st Feb to 31st March)
  • 06.00 am - 09.30 am (1st April to 15th May).

Evening Shift

  • 02.30 pm - 06.00 pm (1st Oct to 31st Oct)
  • 02.00 pm to 05.30 pm (1st Nov to 31st Jan)
  • 02.30 pm to 06.00 pm (1st Feb to 31st March)
  • 03.00 pm to 06.30 pm (1st April to 15th May).

 

Types Of Zones At Ranthambore National Park

Ten Ranthambore Tiger Safari Zones are located across the park. These are listed in the following order:

ZONE 1: Singh Dwar is the starting point. In this region, tigers may be seen at Sultanpur, Tuti ka Nalla, Peela Pani, Gada Dub, and Amreshwar Dang.

ZONE 2: With locations like Phuta Bandha, Lahpur Tiraha, Nal Ghati, and others, this zone offers the highest likelihood of seeing tigers.

ZONE 3: Padam Talab is the location that tigers visit most frequently in this zone.

ZONE 4: This zone is home to Machli, the most well-known tigress in Ranthambore. The main places where people have reported seeing her include Berda, Lambi, Tamakhan, Adidaant, and Lakkar Da.

ZONE 5: The tigers and other wildlife in this zone typically visit Jokha, Dhakda, Singhdwar, and Anantapur, among other places.

There is a lesser chance of seeing wildlife in Zones 6 (Kundal), 7 (Chidikho), 8 (Balas), 9 (Kuwal ji), and 10 (Aantri), but there are magnificent tigers living there.

Advice to Remember When Visiting Ranthambore National Park

  1. Dress according to the weather; for example, woolen clothing is acceptable in the winter and cotton clothing in the summer.
  2. Any noise can distract the wildlife, thus during your Ranthambore tiger safari, you must remain serene.
  3. Hats, sunscreen, and insect repellents will all be helpful to you as you explore.
  4. Dress in muted, light-colored attire to avoid drawing the attention of the wildlife.
  5. Refrain from littering; instead of throwing your trash anywhere in the national park, bring it back with you in your bag.

 

Types Of Safari At Ranthambore National Park

In Ranthambore, there are two ways to go on a safari: 20-seat safari buses called "canter" and four-wheel drive jeeps called "Jeep" that can accommodate up to six people each. These cars are all owned and operated by locals and are connected to the Forest Department. The park does not allow the entry of vehicles that are not affiliated with the Forest Department. Visitors are strongly urged to arrange their safaris well in advance, especially for Jeep safaris, as canters and gipsies are reserved in advance.

All attendees must provide their full identities and a form of identification in order to reserve a safari. The passport is the only form of identification that is recognised for foreign nationals. Any of the following forms of identification are acceptable for Indian nationals: voter ID, passport, driver's licence, PAN card, school ID, government ID, or employee ID. It is necessary to present an identity proof copy before each safari, therefore please bring several photocopies of the proof
