Wildlife Tour In South India

TIH

Without visiting the national parks of South India, a wildlife tour of India will fall short. Three states—Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala—will be included in the South India Wildlife Tour. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary, and the National Parks at Kumarakom and Nagarhole are just a few of the well-known wildlife attractions included in any South India Tour packages. Due to the high rainfall in Kerala and Karnataka, there is a lot of vegetation. You get to see everything there is to see in South India, including the wildlife, hills, and backwaters that support several animal species. Another fascinating and seductive activity in the south Indian wildlife reserve is bird viewing. Bird watching is a strange experience since it allows you to witness these magnificent natural beings up close.

You will be inspired to book a trip to South India after reading our blog’s selection of a few treasures from that region’s vast treasure trove.

1. The Bandipur National Park
A well-known national park in India, Bandipur is a part of Karnataka’s “Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.” Elephants, four-horned antelopes, and panthers are the main natural features of this national park. A few of the rarest bird species, jungle fowl, and green pigeons can also be seen here. The park is home to numerous tigers as well as other species such as the black-knapped hare, the sambhar (a type of bull), the jackal, the chital, the four-horned antelope, the mouse deer, the wild dog, the malabar squirrel the wild boar, the sloth bear, and the wild boar.

2.Periyar National Park
Located in Thekkady, Kerala, Periyar National Park is one of India’s most well-known tiger and elephant reserves. Early in the morning is the best time to see wildlife, including bison, elephants, wild boars, and a variety of birds. Darters, Kingfishers, racket-tailed Drongoes, Cormorants, and other birds are some of the most popular wildlife in this area. Rich in both flora and fauna, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is well known.

3.Wayanand Wildlife Sanctuary
The Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Kerala includes the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. By protecting the critically endangered flora and animals, it is also the second-largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala. There are several different large wild species to be found there, including Indian bison, tigers deer, and elephants. The refuge is home to a large number of unique birds.

4.Mudumalai National Park
One of the top destinations for wildlife vacations in South India is Mudumalai National Park. The Moyar river, which separates Mudumalai from Bandipur, is this park’s main draw. Along with some of the birds that may be seen here, such as the Malabar grey hornbill, the crested serpent eagle, the crested hawk-eagle, the Malabar trogon and the deer, deer, and wild dog, you can also see elephants, leopards, tigers, gaurs, wild dogs, and deers.
Note: The way to explore this amazing national park is to plan it in between the transfers from or by Ooty to Mysore or Mysore to Waynad or Waynad to Bangalore. For more information check this itinerary.

5. Nagarhole National Park
The Famous Karnataka national park Nagarhole is also a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. The park is well known for its steadily rising tiger ratio. Predators including tiger, leopard, hyena, wild dog, and sloth bear are present in the park in reasonable numbers, although spotted deer, barking deer, sambar four-horned antelope, gaur, wild boar, elephant, and gaur are the most frequently seen creatures there. Several reptiles and several bird species can also be seen here.

6. Dandeli wildlife sanctuary
Animals like the Malabar giant squirrel, tigers, jackals, mouse deer, black panther, bison, civet cats, langurs, elephants, Pangolin, and sloth bear find it to be the ideal habitat. The sanctuary is a fantastic location for bird watching in South India because it is home to species including the golden-backed woodpecker, crested serpent eagle, and magpie robin. This nature sanctuary is home to a diverse range of vegetation and species. In addition to this, there are other activities available here, including hiking, seeing crocodiles, fishing, and water rafting.

Many species of endangered plants and animals can be found in all of these locations. These forested areas are, to put it simply, reserves for a wide variety of wildlife. You can take jeep safaris or other forms of transportation to explore these sanctuaries or parks while engaging in a variety of adventure activities including boating, hiking, camping, and rafting, among others. Because of the rainforest's ecological variety and varied topography, various bird species have developed. The best sites to see a variety of wildlife creatures in India, especially elephants, are in the southern states. Numerous national parks and wildlife sanctuaries dispersed across the four states are included in the wildlife travel packages offered by top indian holidays.
