Day

Delhi Sightseeing

Have your breakfast at the hotel and head to see this fascinating city for yourself. Start with the bustling Old Delhi, where you enter the alluring chaos of the Chandni Chowk shopping mart and have a thrilling rickshaw ride around it. Another landmark you see is the massive Red Fort, so named because of its red sandstone walls. Shah Jahan, the man who built the Taj Mahal, started the enormous fort, and when his son locked him up within, it ultimately contributed to his downfall. Continue on to Raj Ghat. This is where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948; it is marked by a black marble platform. Once you've had lunch at a local eatery, explore some of the most significant sites in New Delhi. View the stunning Humayun's Tomb, which was constructed during the Gupta dynasty in the sixteenth century and is recognized as the first garden tomb in the Indian subcontinent. A bulbous dome sits atop it. Magnificently illustrating Mughal architecture, Humayun's Tomb influenced the later Taj Mahal. Views include the copper-domed Rashtrapati Bhawan, the ceremonial avenue of the pond-flanked Rajpath, and the tall stone arch of India Gate.

Visit the pink sandstone Palace of the Winds, popularly called Hawa Mahal, as your last destination. Though it isn't the most famous building in Jaipur, Sawai Pratap Singh built this five-story mansion in 1799 for the women in his royal harem. Check into your accommodation and have a free evening after that.
