Bird Watching Tour in Kerala is the perfect holiday to experience if you are a bird lover as Kerala is the paradise for the colourful birds and one can spot numerous beautiful birds. The tour starts from Thattekad Bird Sanctuary and then you stop at various places to explore hidden treasures of Kerala.

Detail Itinerary

The following 3 day are scheduled for enjoying the Bird Watching at the Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary which is home to Crimson-rufous babbler, whitebellied treepie, Wayanad laughing thrash, brown fish owl, spot bellied eagle owl, oriental scops owl, Malabar grey hornbill, Malabar parakeet, white bellied blue flycatcher, red spurfowl, Indian pitta, grey headed fishing eagle, mottled wood owl, black-throated munia,  oriental bay owl and many more.

In the morning, depart for Periyar National Park and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rich flora and fauna at Periyar National Park which is known for Wayanad laughing thrush, black-naped monarch, little spider hunter, jungle owlet, white-rumped spinetail, vernal hanging parrot, besra, woolly-necked stork, Asian fairy bluebird,  brown-cheeked fulvetta, thick-billed warbler, grey-breasted prinia, yellow-browed bulbul, mountain imperial pigeon, migratory chestnut-winged cuckoo, pompadour green, black baza, oriental honey-buzzard, brown-backed needle tails and many more. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Depart for Munnar in the morning and on the way, stop at the Bodi-Ghats for sightseeing. You may spot here the black eagle, blue faced malkoha, short toed snake eagle, sirkeer malkoha, Indian robin and yellow throated bulbul. Continue driving towards Munnar and proceed for check-ins at the hotel followed by an overnight stay.

Proceed for bird watching at Sholas which is dotted with high mountains and dense forest. Here, you may spot grasshopper warbler, broad tailed grassbird, whitebelied shortwing, nilgiri flycatcher, black & orange flycatcher, nilgiri wood pigeon, painted bush quail, nilgiri pipit and many more.

Depart for Chinnar which consists of dry scrub forest. Here, you may spot yellow legged buttonquail, jungle bush quail, sirkeer malkoha, blue-bearded bee-eater, white-naped woodpecker, blue faced malkoha and white-bellied drongo.
Afterwards, depart for Ooty, the hill station located at the top of the Nilgiri Hills. Transfer to the hotel followed by an overnight stay.

In the morning, enjoy bird watching at Ooty and then depart for Mudumalai which is situated at the foot of the Nilgiri Hills. Here, you may spot painted bush quail, Malabar lark, thick-billed babbler, banded-bay cuckoo, large cuckooshrike, white-bellied woodpecker, yellow-billed babbler, white-bellied minivet, chestnut-bellied nuthatch, Indian blue robin, sirkeer malkoha and jerdon’s bushlark.
In the evening, depart for Cochin and drop at Cochin Airport to board a flight for the onward destination.
