Udaipur's City Palace collection alone holds more than twenty vintage cars, including four antique Rolls-Royces and a pair of nineteen thirties Cadillacs, all maintained and driveable. Being based in Jaipur puts us close to the collections and the drivers who look after them.
One thing to be clear about before you enquire. This is an hourly product, not a touring one. A ninety year old car has no usable air conditioning, brakes that need respect and a cooling system that suffers in stationary traffic. We hire them for one to three hours: the wedding entry, the arrival at the palace, the photo shoot, the short drive through the old city at the end of the day.
For the driving itself we send a modern car. Guests who book both get the photographs they wanted and a comfortable transfer afterwards, which is how every successful vintage booking we have run has been arranged.

Hiring a Coach in India
Do you decorate the car for a wedding
Yes. Flowers, ribbon and the colour scheme are arranged to match the event, and the car arrives dressed rather than being decorated on site. Tell us the ceremony timings and we will position the car well before them, because these engines prefer not to idle in a queue.
Is the Ambassador a vintage car?
Not strictly, but it belongs in this category rather than in economy rental. Production ended in 2014 and for most foreign visitors the Ambassador is a piece of India they recognise from photographs: government cars, Kolkata taxis, another era. As a ninety minute heritage drive it is a memorable thing to do, and as everyday transport it is not.
Where are these cars actually available?
Rajasthan holds the best collections in the country, which is one advantage of us being based in Jaipur. Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur all have running vintage cars in private and palace collections, and Delhi and Mumbai have a smaller number. Availability is genuinely limited, so ask early for a wedding date.
Can a vintage car take us from Jaipur to Agra?
No, and we will not quote it. A two hundred kilometre highway run in a nineteen thirties car risks the car and your schedule. What we do instead is send the vintage car for the arrival or the departure photographs and a modern vehicle for the drive itself.
How long can a vintage car be hired for?
One to three hours. These are not touring cars. They have no air conditioning worth the name, drum brakes on the older ones, and cooling systems that dislike traffic on a hot afternoon. A wedding entry, a palace arrival, a photo shoot or a short drive through the old city is exactly what they are for.
