Chennai introduces travelers to South India through its cultural elegance, temple traditions, colonial architecture, and coastal atmosphere.

After check-in, guests may relax after their international flight while enjoying the premium comfort and hospitality of the hotel. The itinerary has been intentionally designed with slower pacing allowing travelers to settle comfortably before beginning the extensive South India journey.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy a curated South Indian dining experience featuring traditional Tamil cuisine within an elegant luxury setting. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 2 Chennai to Pondicherry

After breakfast, begin the scenic coastal drive toward Pondicherry along the beautiful East Coast Road beside the Bay of Bengal. Ocean views, fishing villages, palm-lined stretches, and seaside landscapes accompany the journey throughout the route.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel located within the French Quarter. Pondicherry’s colonial villas, artistic cafés, seaside promenades, and relaxed French-Tamil atmosphere create one of South India’s most charming coastal environments.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy a guided heritage walk through the French Quarter while exploring colonial streets, churches, art galleries, and waterfront cafés. Evening remains free for coastal dining and overnight stay in Pondicherry.

Day 3 Pondicherry to Thanjavur

Morning begins with breakfast followed by continuation toward the historical city of Thanjavur, once the glorious capital of the Chola Empire and one of South India’s greatest cultural centers.

The drive passes temple towns, fertile countryside landscapes, and traditional Tamil villages before reaching the heritage-rich city. Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel before visiting the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple, one of India’s greatest architectural achievements and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Massive stone towers, intricate carvings, and grand ceremonial spaces reveal the artistic brilliance of Chola architecture. Evening remains peaceful with traditional Tamil dining and overnight stay in Thanjavur.

Day 4 Thanjavur to Madurai

After breakfast, continue toward the ancient temple city of Madurai, one of India’s oldest continuously inhabited urban centers and among Tamil Nadu’s most important spiritual destinations.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel before beginning evening exploration of the iconic Meenakshi Amman Temple. Towering gateway structures covered with thousands of sculptures dominate the skyline while evening rituals create a deeply spiritual atmosphere.

The illuminated temple corridors, devotional music, flower markets, and sacred ceremonies together create one of South India’s most unforgettable cultural experiences. Overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 5 Madurai Cultural Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by deeper exploration of Madurai’s heritage districts, temple streets, and traditional markets. Guests may observe local life unfolding through flower vendors, textile shops, bronze artisans, and temple rituals spread across the city.

Continue toward the historic Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace where grand pillars and ceremonial halls showcase another layer of South India’s royal architectural history. Compared to Thanjavur’s monumental Chola heritage, Madurai presents a more vibrant and spiritual urban identity.

Later in the afternoon, guests may revisit the Meenakshi Temple during quieter hours or enjoy cultural performances before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 6 Madurai to Rameswaram

After breakfast, continue toward the sacred island destination of Rameswaram, one of Hinduism’s holiest pilgrimage sites associated with the Ramayana epic. The route becomes increasingly scenic as ocean landscapes and coastal villages appear near the famous Pamban Bridge.

Crossing the bridge surrounded by turquoise waters creates one of South India’s most memorable travel experiences. Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel before visiting the renowned Ramanathaswamy Temple known for its extraordinary pillared corridors and spiritual significance.

Evening remains free for peaceful coastal walks beside the sea and overnight stay in Rameswaram.

Day 7 Rameswaram to Kanyakumari

Morning begins with breakfast followed by coastal exploration including Dhanushkodi and scenic ocean viewpoints before continuing toward Kanyakumari, located at the southernmost tip of mainland India.

The drive passes fishing villages, temple towns, and tropical coastal landscapes before reaching one of India’s most iconic ocean destinations where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury seaside hotel before witnessing the spectacular sunset for which Kanyakumari is internationally famous. The dramatic meeting point of three seas creates an unforgettable atmosphere. Overnight stay in Kanyakumari.

Day 8 Kanyakumari to Kovalam

After breakfast, continue toward Kerala’s famous beach destination of Kovalam. The scenic drive remains highly rewarding with tropical landscapes, fishing communities, coconut groves, and Arabian Sea views accompanying the route.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury beachfront resort overlooking the sea. Kovalam’s crescent-shaped beaches, calm waters, and wellness-focused atmosphere create an ideal environment for luxury coastal relaxation.

The evening remains free for beach walks, Ayurvedic therapies, or sunset dining experiences beside the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 9 Kovalam Wellness and Beach Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast overlooking the Arabian Sea followed by a slower leisure day dedicated entirely to wellness and coastal relaxation. Kovalam has long been associated with Ayurveda, yoga retreats, and luxury beach holidays because of its peaceful atmosphere and scenic tropical setting.

Guests may spend the day enjoying personalized Ayurvedic therapies, herbal steam treatments, yoga sessions, infinity pool relaxation, or private beachside leisure experiences arranged within the luxury resort. The sound of the waves and warm sea breeze create a highly calming environment ideal for unwinding after the temple and heritage-focused destinations covered earlier in the journey.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy candle-lit seafood dining beside the beach while watching the sunset over the Arabian Sea. The combination of luxury hospitality, tropical surroundings, and slower pacing makes Kovalam one of the most relaxing sections of the itinerary. Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 10 Kovalam to Alleppey

After breakfast, continue northward toward the famous backwater destination of Alleppey. The scenic drive passes coconut groves, rivers, tropical villages, and coastal landscapes while gradually introducing Kerala’s iconic waterways.

Upon arrival, guests board a luxury private houseboat designed for comfort, privacy, and immersive backwater cruising experiences. Spacious suites, panoramic viewing decks, elegant dining areas, and personalized service create one of Kerala’s finest luxury travel experiences.

As the houseboat glides slowly through canals and lagoons, guests observe village life unfolding naturally beside the waterways including churches, fishing communities, paddy fields, and coconut farms. Sunset reflections across the backwaters create an unforgettable atmosphere while freshly prepared Kerala cuisine is served onboard. Overnight stay onboard the luxury houseboat in Alleppey.

Day 11 Alleppey to Kochi

Morning breakfast onboard the houseboat is followed by disembarkation and continuation toward the historic coastal city of Kochi. The drive remains scenic with tropical waterways, fishing villages, and Arabian Sea landscapes accompanying the route.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel within Fort Kochi. Kochi’s atmosphere differs greatly from the quieter backwaters because of its colonial architecture, maritime history, artistic streets, and cosmopolitan coastal culture.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy a guided heritage walk through Fort Kochi while exploring Chinese Fishing Nets, old churches, colonial buildings, art cafés, and spice warehouses spread across the waterfront district. Evening remains free for waterfront dining and overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 12 Kochi Cultural and Spice Heritage Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by deeper exploration of Kochi’s multicultural heritage and spice trading history. Visit Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, and spice market districts where centuries of global maritime trade shaped the city’s architecture, cuisine, and cultural identity.

Guests may also enjoy curated Kerala cooking experiences or spice shopping opportunities while learning about the importance of black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves within Kerala’s history. Compared to the temple-focused destinations of Tamil Nadu, Kochi introduces a more artistic and globally connected atmosphere.

Later in the evening, guests may attend a traditional Kathakali dance performance showcasing Kerala’s classical storytelling traditions through elaborate costumes and dramatic expressions. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 13 Kochi to Munnar

After breakfast, begin the scenic mountain drive toward Kerala’s famous hill station of Munnar. The route gradually climbs through waterfalls, spice plantations, forests, and mist-covered valleys while introducing the breathtaking tea-covered landscapes of the Western Ghats.

As the elevation increases, endless tea plantations spread across rolling hills creating one of South India’s most iconic mountain environments. The cool climate and drifting clouds create a refreshing contrast after Kerala’s tropical coastal regions.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury plantation resort surrounded by tea estates and panoramic valley views. Evening remains free for plantation walks, tea experiences, or quiet relaxation amidst the mountain scenery. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 14 Munnar Tea Plantation Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast overlooking the tea-covered hills followed by scenic exploration of Munnar’s plantation landscapes. Guests may visit tea factories and estate trails where experts explain the cultivation and processing methods behind Kerala’s world-famous tea industry.

Continue toward Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and panoramic mountain viewpoints where mist-covered valleys stretch endlessly across the horizon. Compared to Kerala’s coastal atmosphere, Munnar feels cooler, quieter, and deeply connected with nature.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy Ayurvedic spa therapies, tea tasting sessions, or private sunset dining experiences within the plantation resort. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 15 Munnar to Ooty

After breakfast, continue toward the colonial hill station of Ooty located within the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu. The scenic mountain drive passes forests, waterfalls, valleys, and tea plantations throughout the route.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury colonial-style resort surrounded by landscaped gardens and cool mountain air. Ooty’s elegant hill station atmosphere and colonial heritage create a softer and more refined mountain experience compared to Munnar’s dramatic plantation landscapes.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy relaxed exploration of tea estates, botanical gardens, or scenic viewpoints while breathing in the cool Nilgiri climate. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 16 Ooty and Coonoor Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by scenic exploration of Ooty and nearby Coonoor. Guests may visit tea plantations, colonial viewpoints, mountain rail routes, and eucalyptus forests while enjoying panoramic Nilgiri landscapes.

Coonoor’s quieter atmosphere and rolling tea estates create highly peaceful surroundings ideal for photography, leisure walks, and relaxed mountain experiences. The slower pace of the itinerary allows travelers to fully appreciate the beauty of the Nilgiri Hills rather than rushing between attractions.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy tea tasting sessions or private leisure time within the luxury hill retreat before another peaceful evening in Ooty. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 17 Ooty to Mysore

After breakfast, descend gradually from the Nilgiri Hills toward the royal heritage city of Mysore. The scenic drive passes forest corridors, countryside villages, and agricultural landscapes while transitioning from mountain scenery into Karnataka’s elegant cultural capital.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury palace-style hotel before beginning relaxed exploration of Mysore’s heritage districts. Wide boulevards, colonial-era buildings, silk markets, and royal architecture create a graceful and refined urban atmosphere unlike the quieter hill stations covered earlier in the journey.

Later in the evening, visit the illuminated Mysore Palace, one of India’s grandest royal residences. Thousands of lights transform the palace into a spectacular architectural landmark while royal halls, stained glass ceilings, and intricate interiors showcase Karnataka’s regal heritage. Overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 18 Mysore Cultural and Royal Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by deeper cultural exploration across Mysore’s heritage neighborhoods. Guests may visit sandalwood workshops, silk weaving centers, flower markets, and artisan districts connected with the city’s royal traditions.

Continue toward Chamundi Hills where panoramic views overlook the city and surrounding countryside. Compared to the mountain atmosphere of Ooty, Mysore introduces a more elegant and culturally vibrant environment centered around palace heritage and classical arts.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy wellness therapies, luxury shopping experiences, or quiet leisure time within the palace hotel while absorbing Mysore’s calm and sophisticated atmosphere. Overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 19 Mysore to Bangalore

After breakfast, continue toward Bangalore, Karnataka’s cosmopolitan capital known for its pleasant climate, green avenues, and modern luxury lifestyle. The comfortable drive passes countryside landscapes and smaller towns before entering the city’s elegant urban districts.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel before enjoying a slower leisure afternoon. Bangalore provides a refreshing balance between modern city comforts and South India’s traditional cultural atmosphere experienced throughout the journey.

Later in the evening, guests may explore fine dining restaurants, stylish cafés, or luxury shopping areas depending on personal interests. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 20 Bangalore Leisure and Cultural Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast followed by a relaxed leisure day allowing travelers to unwind before departure. Guests may choose optional experiences including garden visits, wellness therapies, café exploration, art galleries, or luxury shopping experiences within Bangalore’s refined districts.

The slower pace of the itinerary ensures travelers remain refreshed even after covering multiple destinations across South India. Bangalore’s pleasant weather and modern hospitality create a comfortable and sophisticated conclusion to the extensive explorer journey.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy a farewell dining experience featuring curated South Indian cuisine representing flavors and traditions experienced throughout the tour. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 21 Bangalore Relaxation Day

After breakfast, the day remains intentionally flexible for complete leisure and relaxation. Guests may enjoy spa therapies, private yoga sessions, or simply spend quiet time within the luxury hotel before international departure.

Unlike rushed itineraries, this journey concludes gradually allowing travelers time to reflect upon the landscapes, cultures, cuisines, and experiences explored across South India. The slower ending ensures guests leave relaxed rather than exhausted after the extensive journey.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy their final luxury dining experience within Bangalore while revisiting memories of temple cities, beaches, backwaters, plantations, and heritage landscapes covered throughout the tour. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 22 Departure from Bangalore

After breakfast, private transfer arrangements are provided to Bangalore International Airport for onward departure. Assistance is offered throughout the checkout and transfer process to ensure a smooth conclusion to the luxury South India explorer journey.

During the past twenty-two days, travelers have explored temple heritage, tropical beaches, tea plantations, luxury backwaters, colonial towns, royal palaces, spice regions, and scenic hill stations across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka while enjoying carefully paced premium hospitality throughout the itinerary.

With unforgettable memories of Pondicherry’s French charm, Rameswaram’s sacred coastline, Kerala backwaters, Munnar tea gardens, Nilgiri Hills, Mysore Palace, and authentic South Indian culture, the tour concludes in Bangalore.   because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
