Ultimate Kerala and Tamil Nadu Luxury Escape :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Trivandrum

Upon arrival at Trivandrum International Airport, guests are warmly welcomed by the representative of Top Indian Holidays and transferred privately to their luxury hotel. Trivandrum, officially known as Thiruvananthapuram, combines royal heritage, temple traditions, colonial architecture, and tropical coastal charm within one elegant city. After check-in, guests can relax comfortably after their international journey while enjoying the refined hospitality of Kerala.

Later in the afternoon, begin a relaxed orientation tour across selected landmarks of the city. Drive through beautifully maintained avenues, palace districts, and heritage neighborhoods associated with the former Travancore kingdom. The atmosphere in Trivandrum feels calm and sophisticated compared to larger Indian metropolitan cities, making it an ideal introduction to South India.

In the evening, guests may enjoy a curated dinner featuring traditional Kerala cuisine along with international selections. Luxury restaurants in Trivandrum often combine coastal flavors, refined presentation, and elegant ambiance that perfectly complement the slower rhythm of the tour. Overnight stay in Trivandrum.

Day 2 Trivandrum to Kovalam

After breakfast, depart for the nearby beach destination of Kovalam, one of Kerala’s most celebrated luxury coastal retreats. The short drive follows the Arabian Sea coastline while palm-lined roads, fishing villages, and tropical scenery create a relaxed and scenic atmosphere.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury beach resort overlooking the sea. Kovalam is known for its crescent-shaped beaches, peaceful ocean views, and premium seaside hospitality. Unlike crowded commercial beach destinations, Kovalam offers a quieter and more refined coastal environment particularly suited for luxury travelers and honeymoon couples.

The remainder of the day remains free for relaxation. Guests may enjoy beach walks, Ayurvedic spa treatments, infinity pool experiences, or sunset dining overlooking the Arabian Sea. The soft sea breeze, tropical climate, and calm atmosphere create a highly rejuvenating beginning to the coastal section of the journey. Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 3 Kovalam Leisure and Wellness Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast beside the sea followed by a leisurely day designed for complete relaxation. Luxury travel through Kerala is not only about sightseeing but also about wellness, slower living, and enjoying natural surroundings without rushed schedules. Kovalam’s peaceful beaches and premium resorts make it ideal for such experiences.

Guests may spend the morning enjoying Ayurvedic therapies and wellness sessions inspired by Kerala’s traditional healing systems. Luxury spas in Kovalam specialize in herbal treatments, relaxation therapies, and personalized wellness programs designed to rejuvenate both body and mind. Private yoga sessions overlooking the coastline can also be arranged.

Later in the evening, enjoy a private dining experience with freshly prepared seafood and regional Kerala specialties served in a romantic beachfront setting. The combination of luxury comfort, tropical surroundings, and personalized hospitality makes Kovalam one of the most memorable destinations of the journey. Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 4 Kovalam to Varkala

After breakfast, continue northward along Kerala’s coastline toward Varkala, a destination known for dramatic cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea and a more relaxed artistic atmosphere. The coastal drive remains scenic with endless coconut groves, fishing villages, and ocean views accompanying the journey.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury cliffside resort offering panoramic sea views and peaceful surroundings. Unlike other beach towns, Varkala combines spiritual significance, coastal beauty, wellness culture, and boutique luxury hospitality within one destination. The dramatic cliffs rising above the sea create an especially unique setting rarely found elsewhere in India.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy leisurely walks along the cliff promenade lined with cafés, wellness centers, boutique stores, and viewing points overlooking the ocean. Sunset from the Varkala cliffs creates one of the most beautiful coastal experiences in Kerala. Overnight stay in Varkala.

Day 5 Varkala to Alleppey

Morning departure takes guests toward the famous backwater destination of Alleppey, often referred to as the “Venice of the East.” The route gradually moves away from the coastline into Kerala’s peaceful inland waterways where canals, coconut lagoons, and village life dominate the scenery.

Upon arrival, board a luxury private houseboat designed for comfort, privacy, and scenic cruising through the backwaters. Spacious interiors, elegant dining areas, panoramic decks, and attentive service create a highly refined experience compared to ordinary houseboat tours. The slow movement through Kerala’s canals allows travelers to observe local life unfolding naturally beside the waterways.

Freshly prepared Kerala cuisine is served onboard while the houseboat glides past paddy fields, churches, fishing boats, and traditional wooden homes. Sunset across the backwaters creates an unforgettable atmosphere before the boat anchors peacefully for the night. Overnight stay onboard the luxury houseboat in Alleppey.

Day 6 Alleppey to Kumarakom

After breakfast onboard the houseboat, disembark and continue toward Kumarakom, one of Kerala’s most luxurious lake destinations. Located beside the vast Vembanad Lake, Kumarakom offers a quieter and more elegant backwater experience surrounded by coconut groves, birdlife, and peaceful waterways.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury lake resort known for its private villas, wellness experiences, and serene atmosphere. Compared to Alleppey’s active canals, Kumarakom feels calmer and more secluded, making it ideal for travelers seeking relaxation and privacy. Guests can spend the afternoon enjoying lakeside views and the tranquil environment of the resort.

Later in the evening, sunset boat rides and private dining experiences can be arranged overlooking the lake. The peaceful atmosphere, luxury hospitality, and tropical landscapes create one of the most refined sections of the journey. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.

Day 7 Kumarakom Leisure Day

The day remains intentionally flexible to allow guests to enjoy the slower rhythm of Kerala’s backwaters without feeling rushed. Morning begins with breakfast overlooking Vembanad Lake followed by leisure time within the luxury property.

Guests may choose optional activities including birdwatching excursions, village canoe rides, Ayurvedic spa therapies, or private yoga sessions. Kumarakom is internationally known for its wellness-focused luxury hospitality and relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for travelers who want meaningful rest within their holiday.

The evening continues with another peaceful lakeside experience where guests can enjoy traditional Kerala hospitality, fine dining, and sunset views over the backwaters. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.

Day 8 Kumarakom to Munnar

After breakfast, depart toward the mist-covered hill station of Munnar, one of South India’s most scenic mountain destinations. The route gradually climbs through winding roads, waterfalls, spice plantations, and tea-covered valleys while the climate becomes cooler and more refreshing.

Along the drive, private stops are arranged at scenic viewpoints and plantation areas where guests can observe Kerala’s famous tea-growing landscapes. The dramatic transition from tropical backwaters to cool mountain scenery creates a beautiful contrast within the itinerary.

Upon arrival in Munnar, check into a luxury hill resort surrounded by tea estates and panoramic valley views. The evening remains free for relaxation amidst cool weather and peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 9 Munnar Sightseeing

Morning begins with breakfast overlooking endless tea-covered hills before starting a scenic exploration of Munnar’s most beautiful attractions. Once developed as a British summer retreat, Munnar still preserves its colonial-era charm through tea estates, mountain cottages, winding roads, and cool weather. The atmosphere here feels peaceful, refreshing, and completely different from Kerala’s coastal landscapes visited earlier in the journey.

Begin the day with visits to Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake where calm waters, misty hills, and tea plantations create breathtaking scenery ideal for photography and relaxation. Private stops along the route allow guests to enjoy the mountain air and panoramic viewpoints away from crowded tourist areas. The natural beauty of Munnar lies not only in its attractions but also in the scenic roads connecting each location.

Later in the afternoon, visit a tea plantation and learn about the region’s tea cultivation history and production process. Guests may enjoy freshly brewed local tea while overlooking the valleys below. Evening remains free for leisure activities including luxury spa therapies, private dining, or quiet plantation walks within the resort surroundings. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 10 Munnar to Madurai

After breakfast, depart from Kerala and continue toward the historic temple city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu. The drive introduces another dramatic transition in landscape and culture as lush tea-covered mountains gradually give way to temple towns, agricultural plains, and the warmer atmosphere of Tamil Nadu.

Upon arrival in Madurai, check into a luxury heritage hotel before beginning an evening visit to the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple. Considered one of the greatest masterpieces of Dravidian architecture, the temple complex dominates the city with towering gateway structures covered in thousands of colorful sculptures representing gods, mythological figures, and sacred symbols.

As evening rituals begin, the atmosphere inside the temple becomes deeply spiritual with chanting, music, lamps, and devotional ceremonies unfolding throughout the sacred corridors. The experience offers guests a meaningful insight into Tamil Nadu’s religious traditions and cultural identity. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 11 Madurai to Rameswaram

Morning departure takes guests toward the sacred island destination of Rameswaram, one of the holiest pilgrimage towns in India and an important spiritual center associated with the Ramayana epic. The journey becomes increasingly scenic as the route approaches the coastline and eventually crosses the famous Pamban Bridge surrounded by ocean views on both sides.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel before visiting the renowned Ramanathaswamy Temple, famous for its long pillared corridors, sacred water tanks, and spiritual significance. The temple’s architecture reflects centuries of devotion and remains among the most respected pilgrimage sites in Hindu tradition.

Beyond its spiritual importance, Rameswaram also offers peaceful coastal landscapes and a slower island atmosphere. Guests may visit Dhanushkodi, a hauntingly beautiful abandoned coastal settlement where the remains of an old town stand beside dramatic sea views and untouched beaches. Sunset near the coastline creates a memorable and peaceful experience. Overnight stay in Rameswaram.

Day 12 Rameswaram Coastal Experiences

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day exploring the quieter and more atmospheric side of Rameswaram Island. Unlike major tourist destinations, Rameswaram carries a deeply spiritual and peaceful character where ocean landscapes, temple traditions, and fishing communities coexist naturally.

Guests may enjoy private coastal excursions, photography experiences, or visits to smaller temples and fishing villages located across the island. The surrounding waters and isolated beaches create a highly calming environment ideal for slow luxury travel. The slower pace allows travelers to appreciate the island beyond its religious significance.

Later in the evening, enjoy a curated seafood dining experience featuring fresh coastal cuisine inspired by Tamil Nadu’s traditional flavors. Ocean breeze, quiet surroundings, and elegant hospitality make the final nights of the journey especially memorable. Overnight stay in Rameswaram.

Day 13 Rameswaram to Trivandrum

Morning departure begins with a scenic drive back toward Kerala and the city of Trivandrum. The route passes through changing landscapes including coastal plains, coconut groves, temple towns, and countryside villages before gradually returning to Kerala’s tropical atmosphere.

Upon arrival in Trivandrum, check into a luxury hotel for the final evening of the tour. Compared to the spiritual calmness of Rameswaram, Trivandrum feels more elegant and urban while still preserving its cultural and royal heritage. Guests can spend the remainder of the day relaxing within the hotel or enjoying final shopping and leisure experiences.

A farewell dinner can be arranged in an elegant private setting where guests reflect on the diverse experiences covered throughout Kerala and Tamil Nadu including beaches, backwaters, tea plantations, temples, wellness retreats, and coastal landscapes. Overnight stay in Trivandrum.

Day 14 Departure from Trivandrum

After breakfast, private transfer arrangements are provided to Trivandrum International Airport for onward departure. Assistance is offered throughout the checkout and transfer process to ensure a smooth conclusion to the luxury journey.

During the past fourteen days, travelers have experienced multiple dimensions of South India including Kerala’s tropical beaches, peaceful backwaters, mountain plantations, wellness culture, and Tamil Nadu’s temple heritage and coastal spirituality. Every destination introduced a unique atmosphere while maintaining premium hospitality and carefully paced luxury travel.

With unforgettable memories of luxury resorts, backwater cruises, scenic mountain drives, temple architecture, coastal sunsets, and authentic South Indian culture, the tour concludes in Trivandrum.   because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
