Dashwmegh Ghat

This Ghat is basically shrine of Shitala, Goddess who is symbolized with curing diseases, giving wealth and maintaining happiness and bonding of family. The name of Ghat has tooth story of ten horses’ sacrifices which was a popular tradition at that time. On the successful completion the yagya, Lord Brahma was so delighted that he established Brahmeshwara Lingam and simply one can reap the benefits of that great sacrifice by bathing on that Ghat.

Scindhia Ghat

It is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is symbolized with creator & destroyer of Earth. Devotees can reach this Ghat by travelling through boat because it is partially submerged in river Ganges. It gives entirely a distinguished experience where one can find a row of Pandas sitting on sideline and scanted dhoop and aroma of hawan makes you feel delighted inside.

Assi Ghat to Kedarnath

It is located on the southernmost part of the city. The main procedure followed for those who begin pilgrimage for Kedarnath, bathing at Asi Ghat is of the prominent preliminaries. Asisangameshvara, the "Lord of the Confluence of the Asi" is the lord to whom this Ghat is dedicated to. Lolarka Kund is another site which is the oldest Ghat of Varanasi marked and associated with the birth of Hindusism. At the time of August a fate is organized yearly where people from adjoining areas join the festivities.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple

This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva who is the presiding deity of the city. Construction and ambience of this temple makes is shine like Golden, also known as Golden Temple. Amongst the eleven established Jyotirlingas Vishwanth temple is the site where the first Jyotirlinga was established. Around the year thousands of devotees come from all over India to dedicate their prayers to Lord Shiva.

Chauki Ghat to Chausati Ghat

This Ghat has small temple dedicated to Godess Durga of whom 64 different idols representing different theme and vigor is established. This Ghat become distinguished because of the presence of Dhobi Ghat, Pandas offering prayer sitting under a beautiful Peepal tree, small shrines of Naga Sadhus makes it different from others.

Panchganga Ghat to Adi Keshava Ghat

Panchganga means confluence of five elements viz Dhutapapa, Kirna, Yamuna, Saraswati and Ganges. This Ghat is the most controversial Ghat as its shrine is dominated by the largest building of that area ie, the mosque of Alamgir. It was said that it was earlier temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which was later destroyed by Auranzeb who converted this temple into mosque.Adi Keshawa Ghat is another famous Ghat located on the outskirts of the city which is almost submerged but apart from rainy season it can be approached easily with a boat ride.

Man Mandir Ghar to Lalita Ghat

Someshwara lingam, God of Moon is the catch point of Lalita Ghat. The major attraction at this Ghat is the observatory set up by maharaja of Jaipur, Sawai Man Singh which was built in 18th century. Other than this Shrine of Vishalakshi is located which is said to the point of Goddess Durga whose idol is wide eyed reflecting the tell tale of assembled pieces of her body when Shiva took all of them and carried away in grief.
