Hyderabad combines royal Nizam heritage, Indo-Islamic architecture, rich culinary traditions, and cosmopolitan elegance within one fascinating city.

After check-in, guests may relax comfortably after their international journey while enjoying the luxury atmosphere of the hotel. Hyderabad introduces the heritage theme of the itinerary through grand palaces, old bazaars, historical mosques, and centuries of royal history visible across the city.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy a curated Hyderabadi dining experience featuring royal cuisine inspired by Nizam traditions. Overnight stay in Hyderabad.

Day 2 Hyderabad Heritage Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast followed by a guided exploration of Hyderabad’s historical landmarks. Visit the iconic Charminar, one of India’s most recognizable monuments surrounded by traditional bazaars and old city culture.

Continue toward Golconda Fort where massive gateways, royal chambers, acoustic engineering, and panoramic city views showcase the military and architectural brilliance of the Deccan rulers. The fort complex introduces travelers to the grandeur and strategic importance of South Indian kingdoms.

Later in the afternoon, guests may visit Chowmahalla Palace and heritage districts reflecting the luxurious lifestyle of the Nizams. Evening remains free for relaxation or luxury shopping experiences. Overnight stay in Hyderabad.

Day 3 Hyderabad to Hampi

After breakfast, depart toward the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hampi, once the magnificent capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. The scenic drive gradually transitions through rural landscapes, rocky terrain, and countryside villages before entering one of India’s most extraordinary archaeological zones.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage-style resort located amidst the dramatic boulder landscapes of Hampi. The surreal terrain surrounding the ancient ruins creates an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in India.

The evening remains free for relaxation while guests enjoy sunset views across the rocky landscapes and river surroundings. The calm atmosphere and historic environment immediately establish the grandeur of Hampi’s lost empire. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 4 Hampi UNESCO Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast followed by a detailed guided exploration of Hampi’s UNESCO heritage monuments. Visit the famous Virupaksha Temple, Vittala Temple, stone chariot, royal enclosures, step wells, and ancient market streets spread across the vast archaeological landscape.

The remains of palaces, temples, elephant stables, and ceremonial platforms reveal the extraordinary scale and sophistication of the Vijayanagara Empire which once dominated much of South India. Massive granite boulders and dramatic landscapes further enhance the visual impact of the ruins.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy coracle rides along the Tungabhadra River or sunset viewpoints overlooking the ancient city. Hampi’s atmosphere becomes especially magical during evening hours when golden light spreads across the ruins and rocky hills. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 5 Hampi to Badami

After breakfast, continue toward the historical cave temple town of Badami, another important heritage destination associated with the Chalukya dynasty. The route passes through dry plateau landscapes and traditional villages before reaching the sandstone cliffs surrounding Badami.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage property before beginning an exploration of the famous Badami Cave Temples carved directly into red sandstone cliffs. Intricate sculptures, mythological carvings, and ancient architecture showcase the artistic sophistication of early South Indian dynasties.

The surrounding lake and rocky terrain create a peaceful and atmospheric setting for heritage exploration. Evening remains free for leisure and overnight stay in Badami.

Day 6 Pattadakal and Aihole Excursion

Morning begins with breakfast followed by an excursion to Pattadakal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its remarkable blend of North and South Indian temple architecture. The temple complex reflects an important transitional period in Indian architectural history.

Guests explore beautifully preserved stone temples featuring intricate carvings, ceremonial spaces, and architectural experimentation developed under the Chalukya rulers. The calm rural setting surrounding Pattadakal adds further charm to the experience.

Continue toward nearby Aihole, often referred to as the cradle of Indian temple architecture because of its large collection of early experimental temples. Return to Badami in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 7 Badami to Chennai

After breakfast, guests proceed toward Chennai by flight or luxury transfer arrangements depending on final routing. Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel within the city.

Chennai introduces a different side of South India’s heritage through its temple traditions, colonial architecture, artistic identity, and coastal atmosphere. Compared to the ancient ruins and sandstone landscapes of Karnataka, Chennai feels more urban and culturally dynamic.

The evening remains free for relaxation and fine dining experiences featuring traditional Tamil cuisine and contemporary hospitality. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 8 Chennai to Mahabalipuram

Morning departure takes guests toward the UNESCO heritage destination of Mahabalipuram along the scenic Coromandel Coast. The coastal highway provides beautiful sea views while gradually introducing the artistic brilliance of the Pallava dynasty.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury beachside resort before exploring Mahabalipuram’s iconic monuments including the Shore Temple, Five Rathas, and Arjuna’s Penance. The remarkable stone carvings and coastal setting make Mahabalipuram one of South India’s most visually striking UNESCO sites.

The evening atmosphere beside the Bay of Bengal feels peaceful and elegant with opportunities for beachside relaxation and heritage dining experiences. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.

Day 9 Mahabalipuram to Thanjavur

After breakfast, depart from the Coromandel Coast and continue toward the historical temple city of Thanjavur, once the glorious capital of the mighty Chola Empire. The drive passes through fertile countryside landscapes, rivers, temple villages, and agricultural regions that have supported South India’s civilization for centuries.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel before beginning an exploration of the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple, one of India’s greatest architectural achievements and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built entirely from granite over a thousand years ago, the temple reflects the engineering brilliance, artistic sophistication, and royal power of the Chola dynasty.

The massive central tower, detailed sculptures, and expansive courtyards create an unforgettable heritage experience. As evening light falls across the temple complex, the atmosphere becomes especially dramatic and peaceful. Guests may later enjoy traditional Tamil dining within a heritage setting. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.

Day 10 Thanjavur Cultural Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by deeper cultural exploration of Thanjavur’s artistic legacy. The city remains internationally known for Tanjore paintings, bronze sculpture traditions, classical music heritage, and temple arts that continue to survive through local artisan communities.

Guests may visit selected workshops where artists demonstrate traditional techniques passed down through generations. The detailed craftsmanship involved in Tanjore paintings and bronze casting reveals the extraordinary artistic standards developed during the Chola period.

Later in the afternoon, visit heritage libraries, palace areas, and cultural districts associated with South India’s classical artistic traditions. The slower pace of Thanjavur allows travelers to appreciate the depth of Tamil cultural heritage beyond monument sightseeing. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.

Day 11 Thanjavur to Kochi

After breakfast, continue toward the historic coastal city of Kochi in Kerala. The journey gradually transitions from Tamil Nadu’s temple landscapes into Kerala’s tropical scenery filled with coconut groves, waterways, spice plantations, and greener countryside.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel located within the Fort Kochi district. Kochi’s atmosphere feels highly cosmopolitan compared to the ancient temple cities visited earlier because of centuries of maritime trade involving Arab, Portuguese, Dutch, and British communities.

Later in the afternoon, begin a guided heritage walk through Fort Kochi where colonial buildings, old churches, spice warehouses, and waterfront cafés create a unique artistic and cultural atmosphere. Evening remains free for seaside dining and overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 12 Kochi Cultural Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast followed by further exploration of Kochi’s multicultural heritage. Visit Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, and old spice market districts where traces of the city’s international trading history remain visible even today.

Guests may also explore art galleries, boutique stores, and cultural spaces spread throughout Fort Kochi’s colonial lanes. Compared to the monumental architecture of Hampi and Thanjavur, Kochi presents a softer and more maritime cultural identity shaped through global trade and colonial influence.

Later in the evening, guests may attend a traditional Kathakali dance performance showcasing Kerala’s classical storytelling traditions through elaborate costumes, facial expressions, percussion, and symbolic movement. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 13 Kochi Leisure and Heritage Experiences

The day remains intentionally relaxed allowing guests to absorb Kochi’s atmosphere at a slower pace. After breakfast, travelers may choose optional activities including spice market visits, photography walks, cooking experiences, or wellness therapies within the luxury hotel.

Kochi’s artistic environment makes it highly rewarding for travelers interested in culture, architecture, and local life rather than rushed sightseeing. Guests may spend time exploring cafés, antique stores, or quiet waterfront spaces throughout the heritage district.

Later in the evening, enjoy a curated seafood dining experience overlooking the Arabian Sea while reflecting on the extraordinary historical landscapes covered throughout the UNESCO heritage journey. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 14 Kochi to Chennai

After breakfast, proceed toward Chennai by flight or luxury transfer arrangements depending on final travel plans. Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel within the city.

Compared to the slower coastal atmosphere of Kochi, Chennai feels more energetic while still deeply connected to South India’s artistic and temple traditions. The city has historically served as one of India’s major cultural capitals for music, dance, literature, and classical arts.

The remainder of the day remains free for relaxation, shopping, or cultural leisure activities before the final phase of the journey. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 15 Chennai Cultural Leisure Day

Morning begins with breakfast followed by optional exploration of Chennai’s artistic districts, silk boutiques, heritage neighborhoods, and temple surroundings. Guests interested in cultural immersion may visit classical music venues or handcrafted textile stores depending on seasonal availability.

Chennai’s cultural importance lies not only in its monuments but also in its living traditions including Bharatanatyam dance, Carnatic music, and Tamil literary heritage. The city offers an ideal final setting to reflect on the architectural and artistic richness experienced throughout South India.

Later in the evening, a farewell dinner can be arranged within an elegant heritage-inspired restaurant featuring curated South Indian cuisine and luxury hospitality. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 16 Departure from Chennai

After breakfast, private transfer arrangements are provided to Chennai International Airport for onward departure. Assistance is offered throughout the checkout and transfer process to ensure a smooth and comfortable conclusion to the luxury heritage journey.

During the past seventeen days, travelers have explored some of South India’s most remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites and historical regions including Hampi, Pattadakal, Badami, Mahabalipuram, and Thanjavur while also experiencing royal heritage, temple culture, colonial coastal cities, and artistic traditions.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
