South India Luxury Palace and Fort Tour :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Hyderabad

Upon arrival at Hyderabad International Airport, guests are warmly welcomed by the representative of Top Indian Holidays and transferred privately to their luxury hotel. Hyderabad introduces travelers to South India’s royal heritage through grand palaces, old bazaars, Indo-Islamic architecture, and centuries of Nizam history.

After check-in, guests may relax after their international journey while enjoying the premium atmosphere and hospitality of the luxury property. Hyderabad’s cultural richness immediately establishes the regal tone of the itinerary through its historical districts and royal culinary traditions.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy a curated Hyderabadi dining experience inspired by traditional Nizam cuisine featuring aromatic biryanis, kebabs, and royal desserts served within an elegant setting. Overnight stay in Hyderabad.

Day 2 Hyderabad Royal Heritage Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast followed by guided exploration of Hyderabad’s most iconic heritage landmarks. Visit the famous Charminar, one of India’s most recognizable monuments surrounded by bustling bazaars and old city culture.

Continue toward the magnificent Golconda Fort, where royal halls, acoustic chambers, defensive walls, and panoramic viewpoints reveal the strategic brilliance and grandeur of the Deccan rulers. The fort complex introduces guests to the military and architectural sophistication of South India’s medieval kingdoms.

Later in the afternoon, visit Chowmahalla Palace, once the ceremonial residence of the Nizams. Crystal chandeliers, royal courtyards, vintage collections, and grand durbar halls showcase the opulent lifestyle of Hyderabad’s aristocracy. Overnight stay in Hyderabad.

Day 3 Hyderabad to Hampi

After breakfast, depart toward the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hampi, once the magnificent capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. The scenic drive gradually transitions through rural landscapes, rocky terrain, and countryside villages before entering one of India’s most extraordinary archaeological zones.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage-style resort located amidst Hampi’s dramatic boulder landscapes and river surroundings. The surreal atmosphere immediately distinguishes Hampi from the urban royal environment of Hyderabad.

The evening remains free for relaxation while guests enjoy sunset views across the rocky hills and ancient ruins. The calm atmosphere and heritage surroundings create an unforgettable introduction to South India’s lost imperial capital. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 4 Hampi Royal Ruins Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast followed by detailed exploration of Hampi’s royal and ceremonial complexes. Visit the famous Vittala Temple, stone chariot, royal enclosures, elephant stables, lotus mahal, and ceremonial platforms spread across the vast UNESCO heritage landscape.

The remains of palaces, market streets, temples, and audience halls reveal the immense scale and sophistication of the Vijayanagara Empire which once controlled much of South India. Massive granite boulders and dramatic landscapes further enhance the visual impact of the ruins.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy sunset viewpoints overlooking the Tungabhadra River and ancient city remains. Hampi’s atmosphere becomes especially magical during evening hours when golden light spreads across the heritage landscape. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 5 Hampi to Mysore

After breakfast, continue toward the royal city of Mysore, historically associated with the Wodeyar dynasty and Karnataka’s regal heritage. The journey passes through countryside landscapes and smaller towns before entering one of India’s most elegant heritage cities.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury palace-style hotel reflecting Mysore’s royal atmosphere. Wide boulevards, heritage architecture, silk markets, and cultural institutions create a graceful urban environment highly suitable for luxury heritage travel.

Later in the evening, visit the illuminated Mysore Palace, one of India’s grandest royal residences. Lavish interiors, stained glass ceilings, chandeliers, carved wooden doors, and royal ceremonial halls showcase the grandeur of Karnataka’s royal history. Overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 6 Mysore Cultural and Palace Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by deeper exploration of Mysore’s cultural heritage. Guests may visit heritage markets, sandalwood workshops, silk weaving centers, and artisan districts connected with the city’s royal traditions.

Continue toward Chamundi Hills for panoramic views across Mysore before exploring additional royal landmarks and cultural spaces associated with the Wodeyar dynasty. Compared to Hampi’s ruined empire atmosphere, Mysore presents a living royal heritage still deeply integrated into city life.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy leisure time within the palace-style property or optional wellness experiences inspired by traditional Indian therapies. Overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 7 Mysore to Bangalore

After breakfast, proceed toward Bangalore, Karnataka’s cosmopolitan capital known for its pleasant climate, colonial-era heritage, and elegant urban atmosphere. The drive remains smooth and comfortable while passing countryside landscapes and smaller heritage towns.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel before enjoying relaxed exploration of selected heritage districts and colonial-era landmarks associated with Bangalore’s historical evolution under British influence.

The remainder of the evening remains free for luxury shopping, fine dining experiences, or quiet relaxation within the hotel. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 8 Bangalore to Chettinad

Morning departure takes guests toward the heritage region of Chettinad in Tamil Nadu by flight or luxury transfer arrangements depending on final routing. Chettinad is internationally known for its aristocratic mansions, unique architecture, and wealthy merchant history.

Upon arrival, check into a beautifully restored luxury heritage mansion where antique interiors, courtyards, carved pillars, and traditional Tamil design create an immersive aristocratic atmosphere.

Later in the afternoon, begin a guided exploration of Chettinad’s architectural heritage including old mansions, handcrafted tile workshops, and traditional artisan communities. The region’s refined culinary traditions and distinctive architecture create a highly unique heritage experience. Overnight stay in Chettinad.

Day 9 Chettinad and Karaikudi Heritage Exploration

Morning begins with breakfast served within the elegant surroundings of the heritage mansion followed by deeper exploration of Chettinad and Karaikudi, regions historically associated with wealthy Chettiar merchant families who built some of South India’s most extraordinary residences during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Guests visit beautifully preserved mansions showcasing Burmese teak wood, Belgian glass, Italian marble, handcrafted tiles, massive courtyards, and intricate decorative detailing that reflect the international trade connections and refined lifestyle of the Chettiar community. Unlike royal palaces and forts visited earlier in the itinerary, Chettinad architecture presents a more residential but equally grand interpretation of wealth and cultural sophistication.

Later in the afternoon, continue through artisan villages known for handcrafted Athangudi tiles, antique restoration work, and traditional textile production. Guests may also enjoy a curated Chettinad culinary experience featuring one of South India’s most celebrated regional cuisines known for aromatic spices and rich flavors. Overnight stay in Chettinad.

Day 10 Chettinad to Karaikudi Cultural Experiences

After breakfast, continue with further cultural exploration around Karaikudi, the heart of the Chettinad region. The quieter roads, heritage streets, temple complexes, and old trading houses create a peaceful and immersive atmosphere far removed from India’s larger urban centers.

Guests may visit local markets, antique stores, and traditional residences where generations of Chettiar families preserved their architectural and cultural legacy. The blend of Tamil craftsmanship and international influences visible throughout the mansions makes Chettinad one of India’s most unique heritage destinations.

Later in the afternoon, enjoy leisure time within the heritage property while experiencing the slower rhythm of rural Tamil Nadu. Evening remains free for cultural interaction, photography, or private dining experiences within the mansion setting. Overnight stay in Chettinad.

Day 11 Chettinad to Bangalore

After breakfast, depart toward Bangalore by flight or luxury transfer arrangements depending on final routing. The journey gradually transitions from Tamil Nadu’s heritage landscapes into Karnataka’s modern and cosmopolitan capital city.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury hotel located within Bangalore’s premium district. Compared to the historical and royal atmosphere of the previous destinations, Bangalore introduces a more contemporary side of South India while still preserving traces of colonial-era heritage and elegant urban culture.

The remainder of the day remains free for relaxation, shopping, or fine dining experiences. Guests may also enjoy optional wellness therapies within the luxury hotel after several days of heritage exploration and travel. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 12 Bangalore Leisure and Cultural Experiences

Morning begins with breakfast followed by a relaxed day allowing guests to unwind before departure. Travelers may choose optional experiences including garden visits, art galleries, boutique shopping, café exploration, or heritage walks through selected colonial districts.

Bangalore’s pleasant climate and sophisticated urban atmosphere provide a comfortable conclusion to the luxury palace and fort journey. Unlike the monumental ruins and royal cities covered earlier, Bangalore offers a softer and more contemporary setting while still remaining culturally rich.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy a farewell dining experience featuring curated Karnataka cuisine and refined hospitality within an elegant luxury setting. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 13 Departure from Bangalore

After breakfast, private transfer arrangements are provided to Bangalore International Airport for onward departure. Assistance is offered throughout the checkout and transfer process to ensure a smooth conclusion to the luxury heritage journey.

During the past thirteen days, travelers have explored royal palaces, ancient forts, imperial capitals, aristocratic mansions, UNESCO heritage landscapes, and cultural cities across Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu while enjoying premium hospitality throughout the itinerary.

With unforgettable memories of Hampi’s royal ruins, Mysore Palace, Hyderabad’s Nizam heritage, Chettinad mansions, luxury heritage stays, and immersive cultural experiences, the tour concludes in Bangalore.   because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
