South India Hill Stations Luxury Tour :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Bangalore

Upon arrival at Bangalore International Airport, guests are warmly welcomed by the representative of Top Indian Holidays and transferred privately to their luxury hotel. Bangalore, known for its pleasant climate and elegant urban atmosphere, serves as the perfect gateway for a scenic South India mountain journey.

After check-in, guests can relax comfortably after their international flight while enjoying the premium hospitality of the hotel. Unlike the cooler mountain destinations visited later in the itinerary, Bangalore introduces travelers gently to South India through its green boulevards, refined dining culture, and cosmopolitan charm.

Later in the evening, guests may enjoy a welcome dinner featuring curated Karnataka and South Indian cuisine presented within an elegant luxury setting. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 2 Bangalore to Mysore

After breakfast, depart for the royal city of Mysore, historically associated with the Wodeyar dynasty and Karnataka’s royal heritage. The drive passes through countryside landscapes and smaller towns before entering one of India’s most graceful heritage cities.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury palace-style hotel reflecting Mysore’s regal atmosphere. Wide boulevards, historic buildings, traditional markets, and palace architecture give the city a calm and elegant character rarely found in larger urban centers.

Later in the evening, visit the illuminated Mysore Palace, one of the grandest royal residences in India. Lavish interiors, stained glass ceilings, royal halls, and intricate carvings showcase the former grandeur of the Mysore kingdom. Dinner and overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 3 Mysore to Ooty

Morning departure takes guests toward the famous hill station of Ooty located in the Nilgiri Hills. The scenic drive gradually climbs through forest roads, mountain curves, tea plantations, and mist-covered valleys while the climate becomes cooler and more refreshing.

Along the route, guests often witness dramatic changes in vegetation and landscape as tropical plains transition into eucalyptus forests and rolling tea-covered hills. The mountain roads leading toward Ooty are among the most scenic in South India and highly rewarding for photography lovers.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury colonial-style resort surrounded by gardens and mountain views. The evening remains free for relaxation amidst cool weather and peaceful surroundings. Guests may enjoy high tea experiences or quiet walks through the property grounds. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 4 Ooty Sightseeing

Morning begins with breakfast followed by a relaxed sightseeing tour of Ooty’s most beautiful attractions. Once developed as a British summer retreat, Ooty still preserves old colonial charm through heritage buildings, botanical gardens, tea estates, and quiet mountain landscapes.

Visit the Government Botanical Gardens where landscaped lawns, exotic flowers, and rare plant collections create one of South India’s most elegant hill station environments. Continue toward Ooty Lake and selected scenic viewpoints offering panoramic views across the Nilgiri Hills.

The afternoon remains intentionally relaxed to preserve the slower luxury rhythm of the journey. Guests may enjoy tea tasting experiences, spa therapies, or private dining within the resort while overlooking mist-covered valleys. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 5 Ooty to Coonoor

After breakfast, continue toward the quieter hill retreat of Coonoor, known for its tea plantations, colonial atmosphere, and panoramic mountain scenery. The short drive passes through winding roads lined with tea gardens and eucalyptus forests.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury plantation retreat surrounded by tea-covered hills. Compared to Ooty’s more active atmosphere, Coonoor feels calmer and more exclusive, making it especially attractive for honeymoon travelers and guests seeking privacy.

Later, visit Dolphin’s Nose viewpoint and selected tea plantation estates while enjoying spectacular views across the valleys below. The cool breeze, plantation landscapes, and peaceful mountain atmosphere create a deeply relaxing experience. Overnight stay in Coonoor.

Day 6 Coonoor Leisure and Plantation Experiences

Morning begins with fresh mountain air and breakfast overlooking the tea estates. Guests may enjoy guided plantation walks where experts explain tea cultivation, harvesting, and processing methods used across the Nilgiri Hills.

The slower pace of Coonoor makes it ideal for wellness-focused experiences and quiet relaxation. Guests may spend the afternoon enjoying spa therapies, reading beside fireplaces, photography excursions, or simply relaxing amidst the plantation surroundings.

Later in the evening, curated dining experiences featuring regional cuisine and plantation-inspired menus can be arranged within the luxury property. Overnight stay in Coonoor.

Day 7 Coonoor to Kodaikanal

After breakfast, proceed toward Kodaikanal, another iconic South India hill station famous for forests, lakes, waterfalls, and cooler mountain weather. The scenic drive remains highly enjoyable as landscapes gradually shift between valleys, forests, and rural mountain settlements.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury hill resort overlooking forests and valley landscapes. Kodaikanal has a softer and more peaceful atmosphere compared to many commercial hill stations, making it ideal for travelers seeking slower immersive experiences.

The evening remains free for relaxation while enjoying cool weather and natural surroundings. Guests may enjoy bonfire experiences, herbal wellness drinks, or quiet nature walks within the property. Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.

Day 8 Kodaikanal Sightseeing

Morning begins with sightseeing across Kodaikanal’s scenic attractions including Coaker’s Walk, Pillar Rocks, and Kodai Lake. Pine forests, waterfalls, mist-covered valleys, and flower-filled gardens create one of the most picturesque mountain environments in South India.

Guests may enjoy boating experiences on Kodai Lake or private scenic walks along forest trails and viewpoints. Compared to the tea landscapes of Ooty and Coonoor, Kodaikanal feels more forested and tranquil with stronger emphasis on natural scenery and quiet mountain relaxation.

Later in the afternoon, return to the resort for leisure time. Spa therapies, candle-light dinners, and wellness experiences can be arranged for guests seeking relaxation amidst the hills. Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.

Day 9 Kodaikanal to Munnar

After breakfast, depart for the beautiful hill station of Munnar in Kerala. The journey remains highly scenic as the route passes through mountain roads, forest stretches, waterfalls, spice plantations, and tea-covered valleys. The transition between Tamil Nadu’s forested hills and Kerala’s plantation landscapes creates a refreshing visual contrast throughout the drive.

Along the route, guests may stop at selected viewpoints where panoramic scenery stretches across mist-covered mountains and tropical valleys. The changing landscapes, cool breeze, and peaceful countryside atmosphere make the drive itself one of the highlights of the journey. Small plantation villages and roadside spice gardens further enhance the authentic South India hill experience.

Upon arrival in Munnar, check into a luxury plantation resort surrounded by tea estates and mountain views. The evening remains free for relaxation amidst cool weather and peaceful surroundings. Guests may enjoy tea tasting sessions, Ayurvedic spa therapies, or private balcony dining experiences overlooking the valleys. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 10 Munnar Sightseeing

Morning begins with breakfast overlooking the tea-covered hills before starting a scenic exploration of Munnar’s most beautiful attractions. Munnar remains one of South India’s most famous hill stations because of its rolling tea plantations, misty valleys, cool climate, and peaceful atmosphere.

Visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake where scenic mountain landscapes create ideal opportunities for photography and quiet relaxation. Private stops are arranged at selected tea plantation viewpoints where guests can observe tea workers harvesting leaves across the slopes while learning about the history of tea cultivation in Kerala.

Later in the afternoon, guests may enjoy leisure time within the resort or optional wellness experiences including spa therapies and guided plantation walks. Munnar’s calm mountain atmosphere and luxury plantation hospitality create one of the most relaxing sections of the journey. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 11 Munnar Leisure and Wellness Experiences

The day has been intentionally designed at a slower pace so guests can fully enjoy Munnar’s mountain environment without rushed sightseeing schedules. After breakfast, guests may choose optional experiences based on personal interests including nature walks, birdwatching, photography tours, or wellness therapies.

Luxury resorts in Munnar often focus strongly on plantation-inspired hospitality and wellness experiences. Herbal massages, steam therapies, and tea-infused spa treatments can be arranged amidst peaceful surroundings overlooking the valleys and forests. The cool weather and fresh mountain air naturally support relaxation and rejuvenation.

Later in the evening, private candle-light dinners can be arranged within the resort while overlooking the illuminated hills and tea gardens below. The calm atmosphere and scenic surroundings make Munnar especially popular among honeymoon couples and luxury nature travelers. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 12 Munnar to Kochi

After breakfast, descend gradually from the hills toward the historic coastal city of Kochi. The scenic drive passes waterfalls, spice plantations, rivers, and countryside villages while showcasing another side of Kerala’s natural beauty beyond the mountain landscapes.

Upon arrival, check into a luxury heritage hotel in the Fort Kochi district. Kochi’s atmosphere feels artistic and culturally layered because of its long maritime history shaped by Portuguese, Dutch, Arab, and British influence. Compared to the peaceful hill stations visited earlier, Kochi introduces a vibrant coastal heritage experience.

Later in the afternoon, enjoy a guided exploration of Fort Kochi including the famous Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, colonial streets, and local spice markets. Evening remains free for fine dining and relaxed waterfront experiences beside the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 13 Departure from Kochi

After breakfast, private transfer arrangements are provided to Kochi International Airport for onward departure. Assistance is offered throughout the checkout and transfer process to ensure a smooth conclusion to the luxury hill station journey.

During the past thirteen days, travelers have experienced multiple mountain destinations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala including Ooty, Coonoor, Kodaikanal, and Munnar while enjoying scenic drives, tea plantations, forest landscapes, colonial charm, and premium hospitality throughout the itinerary.

With unforgettable memories of mist-covered valleys, luxury mountain resorts, plantation experiences, cool weather, and peaceful South Indian hill landscapes, the tour concludes in Kochi. Team Top Indian Holidays bids farewell and looks forward to welcoming guests again for another curated luxury journey across India.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
