Royal Highlights of North India for Beginners :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you before assisting with your transfer to the luxury hotel. India’s capital city introduces travelers to a fascinating blend of Mughal heritage, colonial elegance, modern architecture, and vibrant urban life. After a long international journey, the remainder of the day is planned at a relaxed pace allowing time to settle comfortably before beginning the exploration across North India.

Depending on your arrival timing, enjoy a leisurely orientation drive through New Delhi where wide boulevards, diplomatic districts, and government buildings showcase the city’s colonial-era planning and modern sophistication. The contrast between historical landmarks and contemporary infrastructure becomes immediately visible, creating an engaging first impression of India.

Later in the evening, relax at your luxury hotel or enjoy dinner at one of Delhi’s renowned fine-dining restaurants specializing in Indian cuisine. Your tour coordinator will also provide a complete briefing regarding the upcoming cultural and heritage journey across North India’s most iconic cities. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2 Delhi Sightseeing

The morning begins with a guided exploration of Old Delhi where bustling bazaars, Mughal monuments, spice markets, and narrow lanes continue to preserve the atmosphere of historic India. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk while observing colorful street life, traditional shops, and local vendors creating an energetic and authentic cultural environment.

Visit Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, admired for its grand courtyards and elegant architecture. The old city’s lively atmosphere creates a fascinating contrast to the broad avenues and colonial landmarks of New Delhi explored later during the day.

Continue sightseeing with visits to India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, and Qutub Minar, all of which reflect Delhi’s architectural richness and historical importance. The combination of Mughal, colonial, and modern influences makes Delhi an excellent introduction to India’s layered cultural identity. Return to your hotel for overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 3 Delhi to Agra

After breakfast, depart for Agra using one of India’s finest express highways. The comfortable drive passes through changing landscapes, agricultural fields, and small towns while offering glimpses into everyday life beyond metropolitan cities. Scenic countryside views make the journey smooth and visually engaging.

Upon arrival, check into your luxury hotel before beginning the afternoon sightseeing program. Agra remains globally admired for its association with the Mughal Empire and is home to some of India’s most celebrated architectural landmarks.

Later, visit Agra Fort, an impressive red sandstone fortress once used as the royal residence of Mughal emperors. Grand audience halls, palace chambers, gardens, and riverfront balconies reveal fascinating stories connected to Mughal royalty and political history. In the evening, enjoy sunset views of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna River. Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 4 Agra to Jaipur

Early in the morning, visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise when the white marble monument glows beautifully under changing natural light. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal remains one of the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces and a timeless symbol of love. The peaceful early morning atmosphere creates a particularly memorable experience for visitors.

After breakfast, depart for Jaipur while stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital built during the reign of Emperor Akbar. Magnificent courtyards, royal halls, mosques, and gateways showcase a remarkable blend of Persian, Mughal, and Indian architectural influences.

Continue toward Jaipur and check into your luxury heritage hotel upon arrival. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur introduces travelers to Rajasthan’s royal heritage through colorful streets, artisan traditions, palace architecture, and lively bazaars. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 5 Jaipur Sightseeing

The morning begins with an excursion to Amber Fort located amidst the Aravalli Hills outside Jaipur. Massive gateways, decorative courtyards, mirror-work halls, and beautifully painted royal chambers reveal the grandeur of Rajput architecture and royal lifestyle. The elevated setting of the fort also offers panoramic views across surrounding hills and lakes.

After returning to the city, continue sightseeing with visits to the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and the iconic Hawa Mahal. The City Palace beautifully combines Mughal and Rajput design influences while Jantar Mantar demonstrates India’s remarkable scientific achievements through giant astronomical instruments.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Rajasthani cultural dinner accompanied by folk dance and music performances. Rich regional cuisine, colorful costumes, and royal-style hospitality create a memorable cultural experience for travelers visiting Rajasthan for the first time. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 6 Jaipur to Udaipur

Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight or begin the scenic drive toward Udaipur, Rajasthan’s elegant City of Lakes. Compared to Jaipur’s energetic atmosphere, Udaipur offers a calmer and more romantic environment surrounded by hills, lakes, and palace architecture.

Upon arrival, check into your luxury palace-style hotel overlooking Lake Pichola or the surrounding landscapes. Udaipur has long remained associated with romance, royal heritage, and refined hospitality, making it one of Rajasthan’s most admired luxury destinations.

The evening can be spent relaxing at the hotel while admiring illuminated palace views reflected beautifully over the calm lake waters. Travelers often appreciate the slower pace and peaceful atmosphere after several days of active sightseeing. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 7 Udaipur Sightseeing

The day begins with a guided exploration of the magnificent City Palace complex overlooking Lake Pichola. Elegant courtyards, royal apartments, museums, balconies, and decorative interiors reveal the grandeur of the Mewar dynasty and Rajasthan’s royal history.

Continue sightseeing with visits to Jagdish Temple and Saheliyon Ki Bari where lotus pools, marble pavilions, fountains, and landscaped gardens create a refined and peaceful atmosphere. Udaipur’s scenic surroundings and lakeside beauty make the city especially rewarding for photography and relaxed exploration.

Later in the evening, enjoy a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola while admiring the City Palace, Jag Mandir, and the famous Lake Palace glowing beautifully during sunset hours. The combination of calm waters, palace reflections, and surrounding hills creates one of the most romantic experiences of any North India luxury holiday. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 8 Udaipur at Leisure

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day in Udaipur where travelers can appreciate the city’s slower pace and refined atmosphere. Unlike busier tourist destinations, Udaipur allows visitors to unwind while still enjoying royal surroundings, lakeside scenery, and luxury hospitality.

You may choose to explore local artisan workshops, boutique stores, and traditional markets known for miniature paintings, handcrafted décor items, silver jewelry, and textiles. Walking through Udaipur’s old lanes reveals charming cafés, heritage architecture, and peaceful courtyards hidden throughout the city.

The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing at your luxury hotel, enjoying spa treatments, or simply admiring views across the lake and surrounding hills. The calm atmosphere of Udaipur creates an ideal balance within the overall journey across North India. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 9 Udaipur Excursion & Heritage Experiences

The morning begins with a scenic excursion into the countryside surrounding Udaipur where travelers can witness Rajasthan beyond its famous royal palaces and tourist landmarks. Rural villages, traditional farming communities, temple complexes, and Aravalli hill landscapes together reveal a more authentic and peaceful side of the region. The slower pace of village life creates a refreshing contrast compared to the royal cities visited earlier during the journey.

During the excursion, visitors may interact with local artisans known for pottery, miniature paintings, textile work, and traditional handicrafts still practiced using generations-old techniques. These interactions provide valuable insight into Rajasthan’s living cultural traditions and artistic heritage. Travelers often appreciate the opportunity to observe local craftsmanship in a more personal and meaningful setting.

Later, return to Udaipur and spend the evening at leisure beside Lake Pichola. Sunset reflections over the water, illuminated palace architecture, and elegant lakeside surroundings create an unforgettable atmosphere ideal for relaxation. Many travelers choose to enjoy a private dinner experience or rooftop dining overlooking the lake during their final evening in Udaipur. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 10 Udaipur to Delhi

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Delhi. As the journey moves away from Rajasthan’s lakes and royal landscapes, travelers carry with them memories of palaces, forts, bazaars, cultural performances, and the timeless beauty of North India’s heritage cities.

Upon arrival in Delhi, check into your luxury hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. The final evening in India offers time to relax, enjoy shopping, or revisit favorite culinary experiences before international departure. Luxury boutiques, fine restaurants, and modern cafés in Delhi provide an elegant conclusion to the journey.

The evening is ideal for reflecting on the diverse experiences encountered throughout the itinerary — from the Mughal grandeur of Delhi and Agra to the royal elegance of Jaipur and the lakeside charm of Udaipur. Overnight stay in Delhi.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
