Delhi - Jaipur - Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Udaipur

Trip Overview

Travel is always better with your people - and for LGBTQ+ travelers who love the idea of experiencing India's most magnificent royal state in the company of like-minded queer friends, this 11 Nights / 12 Days Queer Group Tour of Rajasthan Forts & Palaces has been designed with exactly that spirit in mind. This is a tour for groups of friends, travel clubs, Pride travel collectives, or any gathering of queer travelers who want to explore Rajasthan together - privately, comfortably, and with the particular joy and freedom that comes from traveling in good company through one of the world's most extraordinary landscapes.

The itinerary covers five destinations across the full breadth of royal Rajasthan - Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Udaipur - in a journey of steadily unfolding magnificence that takes the group from the Mughal grandeur of the Indian capital through the Pink City, the Blue City, the Golden Desert City, and finally to the luminous lake palaces of the City of Lakes. Along the way, the tour visits some of the most extraordinary forts, palaces, temples, and heritage properties in all of Asia - experiencing them not as individual travelers moving through a crowd but as a group that has the entire experience to themselves.

Group travel in India with a private operator like this offers significant advantages for LGBTQ+ travelers. Your entire group travels together in private coaches or multiple private vehicles - no sharing with strangers, no group departures on fixed schedules, and no compromises on timing or pace. Your guides are briefed specifically on the needs and preferences of LGBTQ+ group travelers. Your hotels are pre-selected for their welcoming attitude and their capacity to accommodate groups in a single property with good group dining facilities. And the entire experience - from airport pickup to final departure - is managed by a single dedicated team whose only focus is making your group's Rajasthan journey as extraordinary as possible.

Whether your group is six people or twenty-six - this tour can be scaled, customized, and shaped entirely around you.

Highlights of the Tour :

Seven Empires, One Magnificent City - Together

After a group breakfast at your hotel, your private guide - supported by assistant guides for larger groups - takes the group on a full and richly rewarding day through both Old Delhi and New Delhi.

Begin in Old Delhi with a group rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk - one of the most exhilarating and genuinely enjoyable group experiences in all of India, the lanes of the ancient market street perfectly suited to the cheerful chaos of a queer travel group discovering them together for the first time. Visit the towering Jama Masjid and the magnificent Red Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - before the serene Raj Ghat beside the Yamuna River.

Move into New Delhi for a scenic drive past India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Parliament House before visiting the soaring Qutub Minar and the hauntingly beautiful Humayun's Tomb - the garden mausoleum that established the architectural language of the entire Mughal period. Return to your hotel for a group dinner this evening - sharing first impressions, favorite moments, and the particular excitement of a travel group that is just beginning to find its rhythm together.

Overnight stay in Delhi - Group Hotel.

Day 3 Delhi to Jaipur

From the Capital to the Pink City - Rajasthan Begins

After breakfast and group checkout, your private coaches depart for Jaipur - approximately 5 hours through the landscapes of Rajasthan. The drive itself is part of the experience - Rajasthan announcing itself gradually through the changing light, the occasional ancient stepwell beside the road, and the first glimpses of the rose-pink city as you approach Jaipur.

Arrive in the early afternoon and check the group into your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming heritage hotel - a property large enough to accommodate the entire group under one roof, its beautiful courtyard and communal spaces making it an ideal base for group travel in the Pink City. The afternoon is free - explore the hotel, rest, or take a walk through the nearby lanes of the old walled city.

This evening, the group gathers for dinner at one of Jaipur's finest rooftop restaurants - the Pink City glowing below, the illuminated Nahargarh Fort above, and the particular warmth of a queer travel group sharing their first Rajasthan evening together in a setting of genuine beauty.

Overnight stay in Jaipur - Group Heritage Hotel.

Day 4 Full Day Jaipur Sightseeing

The Pink City - Forts, Palaces & Markets Together

After a group breakfast, your guide takes the group on a full and deeply enjoyable day through Jaipur - one of India's most spectacular and best-preserved historic cities.

Begin with the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) for group photographs - its extraordinary facade of 953 latticed windows creating one of India's most instantly recognizable and most joyfully photographed images, particularly when experienced with a group who bring their own energy and enthusiasm to the moment. Drive to the commanding Amber Fort - a magnificent hilltop palace of Rajput grandeur whose Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) is one of those spaces that makes every visitor - and every group - fall quiet in genuine, collective wonder. Pause at the ethereal Jal Mahal (Water Palace) appearing to float on Man Sagar Lake.

The afternoon brings visits to the magnificent City Palace and the extraordinary Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory before the group disperses for a couple of hours into Jaipur's famous heritage markets - a perfect group activity, everyone exploring independently before reconvening to compare finds, share recommendations, and collectively admire each other's purchases.

This evening, a group cooking experience at one of Jaipur's finest heritage hotels - learning to prepare traditional Rajasthani dishes together in a beautiful kitchen setting is one of those group travel experiences that creates shared memories and genuine laughter in equal measure, and one that queer travel groups consistently rate among the highlights of the entire tour.

Overnight stay in Jaipur - Group Heritage Hotel.

Day 5 Jaipur to Jodhpur

From the Pink City to the Blue City

After breakfast and group checkout, your private coaches depart for Jodhpur - approximately 5 to 6 hours through the landscapes of central Rajasthan. Arrive in the early afternoon and check the group into your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming heritage hotel with views of the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort rising above the blue-washed rooftops.

The afternoon is free - explore the hotel, rest after the journey, or take a walk through the extraordinary blue city lanes that surround the old city at the base of the fort. The blue-washed houses of Jodhpur's Brahmin quarter create one of the most visually extraordinary urban environments in India - a maze of narrow lanes in every shade of blue, from pale lavender to deep indigo, the fort rising massive and golden above it all.

This evening, the group gathers for a sundowner experience on a rooftop with direct views of the illuminated Mehrangarh Fort - one of the great sights of Rajasthan by night, the fort rising golden against the dark sky above the blue city below. Cold drinks, warm company, and one of the most beautiful views in India - a perfect Jodhpur evening.

Overnight stay in Jodhpur - Group Heritage Hotel.

Day 6 Full Day Jodhpur Sightseeing

Mehrangarh Fort, the Blue City & the World's Most Magnificent Palace

After a group breakfast, your guide takes the group on a full and thoroughly rewarding day through Jodhpur. Begin with the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort - rising 125 meters above the city, its internal palaces of extraordinary beauty housing one of the finest collections of royal artefacts in Rajasthan. The Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal are genuinely spectacular - and the views from the ramparts over the blue city below and the Thar Desert stretching to the horizon are among the finest in all of Rajasthan.

Descend to visit the beautiful Jaswant Thada - the exquisitely carved white marble cenotaph whose peaceful lakeside gardens make it one of Jodhpur's most romantic spots - and walk through the old city's blue lanes together for a genuine encounter with the heart of Jodhpur. The afternoon brings a group visit to the extraordinary Umaid Bhawan Palace - its museum and gardens of impressive grandeur, the scale and magnificence of this last great palace building genuinely awe-inspiring even for a group that has already seen Amber Fort and Mehrangarh.

This evening, group dinner at a restaurant with fort views - sharing the day's highlights and the particular collective energy of a queer travel group that is settling beautifully into the rhythm of Rajasthan together.

Overnight stay in Jodhpur - Group Heritage Hotel.

Day 7 Jodhpur to Jaisalmer

Into the Golden Desert - The Mirage City

After breakfast and group checkout, your private coaches depart for Jaisalmer - approximately 4 to 5 hours through the increasingly dramatic landscapes of the western Thar Desert. As the group drives west, the landscape transforms from rocky hills and scrub forest to the flat, golden, semi-arid expanse of the desert - the horizon widening, the light intensifying, and the collective excitement of the group building with every kilometer as Jaisalmer approaches.

Arrive in the early afternoon and check the group into your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming heritage haveli hotel in Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer's golden sandstone architecture - glowing warm amber in the afternoon light, the 12th-century fort rising above the rooftops like a vision from another age - has an immediate and powerful effect on every group that arrives here for the first time. Spend the late afternoon exploring the old city lanes together before a group dinner on a rooftop with fort views - the golden stone of Jaisalmer glowing in the evening light, the Thar Desert stretching silently beyond the city walls.

Overnight stay in Jaisalmer - Group Heritage Hotel.

Day 8 Full Day Jaisalmer & Group Desert Camp Experience

The Golden Fort, Ancient Havelis & A Night Under the Desert Stars

After breakfast, your guide takes the group on a full morning of exploration through Jaisalmer - beginning with the extraordinary Jaisalmer Fort itself. Walking through the fort's narrow golden lanes together - past homes, restaurants, temples, and the beautifully carved Jain Temples - is one of the most atmospheric and genuinely enjoyable group sightseeing experiences in all of Rajasthan. Visit the Royal Palace for its museum and spectacular desert views.

After the fort, explore the finest of Jaisalmer's famous merchant havelis - Patwon Ki Haveli, the largest and most elaborately decorated, its stone lacework of extraordinary delicacy - and Nathmal Ki Haveli - before heading to your hotel for lunch and an afternoon rest before the evening's extraordinary experience.

In the late afternoon, the group boards their vehicles for the drive to the Thar Desert sand dunes for a group sunset camel safari - riding out into the desert together as the sun begins its extraordinary descent toward the horizon, the dunes turning from gold to amber to deep copper in the fading light. The sight and sound of a queer travel group on camels riding silently across the Thar Desert at sunset - the sky turning every shade of orange and crimson above the dunes - is one of those travel experiences that sounds extraordinary and turns out to be even more so in reality.

Return to the luxury desert camp as darkness falls - your group's private camp set among the dunes with beautiful individual tents, a central communal fire, and a sky of extraordinary stars above. A traditional Rajasthani dinner is served around the campfire - folk musicians playing under the desert stars, the group sharing the experience together in the silence and warmth of the desert night. A queer group dinner under the stars of the Thar Desert - there are very few more extraordinary settings for a shared meal anywhere in India.

Overnight stay in Jaisalmer - Group Heritage Hotel or Desert Camp depending on group preference.

Day 9 Jaisalmer to Udaipur by Flight

From the Golden Desert to the City of Lakes

After breakfast and group checkout, your coaches transfer the group to Jaisalmer Airport for the flight to Jodhpur or Jaipur connecting to Udaipur - approximately 2 to 3 hours total flying time. Upon arrival at Udaipur Airport, your representatives will coordinate the group transfer to your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming lake-facing heritage hotel.

The moment the group arrives in Udaipur - particularly if the hotel has views of Lake Pichola and the white marble palaces above it - the collective reaction is invariably the same. Silence, followed by genuine, unguarded expressions of awe. Udaipur is simply one of the most beautiful cities on earth, and arriving here after the drama of the desert cities makes its particular quality of watery, luminous, romantic beauty even more extraordinary by contrast.

Check in, settle into your rooms, and gather this evening for a group dinner at one of Udaipur's finest lakeside restaurants - the City Palace and the Lake Palace glowing with their evening illumination across the water as the group shares a beautiful first evening in India's most romantic city.

Overnight stay in Udaipur - Group Lake-Facing Heritage Hotel.

Day 10 Full Day Udaipur Sightseeing

Palaces, Lakes & the Sunset That Defines Rajasthan

After a leisurely group breakfast, your guide takes the group on a beautiful and well-paced day through Udaipur. Begin with the magnificent City Palace - the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, its museums of extraordinary beauty and historical depth, its terraces offering views over Lake Pichola that are among the finest in Udaipur. Visit the beautiful Jagdish Temple and the enchanting Saheliyon Ki Bari (Garden of the Maidens) - its lotus pools, marble fountains, and flowering trees creating one of Udaipur's most peaceful and romantic group sightseeing experiences.

The afternoon's centerpiece is the group sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola - the group boarding their private boat together as the afternoon light softens and the sun begins its descent toward the Aravalli Hills. Gliding past the legendary Taj Lake Palace and to the beautiful Jag Mandir Island Palace for drinks on the lakeside terrace - the entire panorama of Udaipur and its palaces spread across the water before the group - is one of those collective travel experiences that bonds a group permanently together. As the sun sets and the palaces begin to glow with their evening illumination, this is a moment of rare, shared beauty.

Overnight stay in Udaipur - Group Lake-Facing Heritage Hotel.

Day 11 Udaipur Leisure & Group Exploration

Art, Craft & the City at the Group's Own Pace

A free day in Udaipur - for the group to explore the old city lanes at their own pace, visit the miniature painting studios and silver jewellery shops around Jagdish Temple, browse the craft boutiques, or simply enjoy a spa treatment or a lazy morning by the hotel pool.

This evening, the group gathers for a farewell dinner at one of Udaipur's finest lakeside restaurants - Ambrai with its unobstructed view of the illuminated City Palace and Lake Palace across the water, or a private group dinner arranged at your hotel's lakeside terrace. This is the dinner that everyone on the tour will remember - the final evening together in Rajasthan, the lake glowing before you, the journey almost complete, and the particular warmth of a group of queer travelers who have spent 11 days discovering one of the world's most magnificent places together.

Your guide will join the group for dinner this evening - raising a glass together to Rajasthan, to the journey, and to the extraordinary community of people who travel the world as themselves and find, always, that the world is more welcoming than they feared and more beautiful than they imagined.

Overnight stay in Udaipur - Group Lake-Facing Heritage Hotel.

Day 12 Group Departure from Udaipur

Farewell from the City of Lakes - Until Next Time

A final group breakfast at your hotel - leisurely, warm, and filled with the particular conversation of people who have shared something extraordinary together. Exchange details, make plans, share photographs, and take a final group photograph on the hotel terrace with the lake and the palaces behind you - a photograph that will end up on walls and phone screens and social media feeds across the world, a permanent record of a journey that was, in every sense, more than a holiday.

At the designated times, your representatives coordinate all group departures - transfers to Udaipur Airport arranged according to individual flight schedules, luggage managed efficiently, and the final logistics of a group departure handled smoothly and personally so that everyone leaves India feeling cared for, comfortable, and deeply happy with the journey they have had.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
