Perfect North India Tour :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will receive a warm traditional welcome from our representative before being transferred to your luxury hotel. India’s capital city immediately introduces travelers to a fascinating contrast where historic Mughal monuments stand beside modern boulevards, luxury shopping districts, and contemporary architecture. After a long international journey, the remainder of the day is kept relaxed to help you settle comfortably into the rhythm of India.

Depending on your arrival schedule, you may enjoy a leisurely drive through some of the prominent avenues of New Delhi. Wide colonial-era roads, government buildings, diplomatic areas, and green gardens showcase a completely different atmosphere compared to the busy old quarters of the city. The changing character of Delhi becomes visible from the very first day itself, making it one of the most dynamic capitals in Asia.

Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel or choose to visit one of Delhi’s renowned fine-dining restaurants known for Indian cuisine with a modern presentation. Your tour manager will also provide a detailed briefing about the upcoming journey across North India. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2 Sightseeing Tour of Delhi

The morning begins with a guided exploration of Old Delhi, a lively historic section filled with narrow lanes, spice markets, centuries-old mosques, and traditional bazaars. A rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk offers a closer look at local life where colorful shops, street food vendors, and busy traders create an energetic atmosphere. You will also visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India and a remarkable example of Mughal architecture.

Later, continue toward New Delhi where the city’s colonial elegance becomes immediately noticeable. Drive past India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Parliament House while your guide explains the historical importance of these landmarks. The contrast between Old Delhi and New Delhi creates a fascinating understanding of how different eras shaped the capital over centuries.

In the afternoon, visit Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites admired for their architectural brilliance. Beautiful gardens, intricate carvings, and Persian-inspired structures make these monuments important highlights of any Delhi luxury tour. Return to your hotel in the evening for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3 Delhi to Agra

After breakfast, begin your comfortable drive toward Agra using one of India’s finest express highways. The journey passes through changing landscapes, small towns, and agricultural regions, giving travelers a glimpse into daily life beyond metropolitan cities. Upon arrival in Agra, check into your luxury hotel and take some time to relax before the afternoon sightseeing program begins.

Agra remains globally famous for its association with the Mughal Empire and houses some of the finest Islamic architecture in the world. Your guided tour starts with Agra Fort, an impressive red sandstone fortress filled with royal courtyards, audience halls, and elegant chambers overlooking the Yamuna River. The stories of Mughal emperors, royal families, and political intrigues bring the monument to life during the visit.

Later in the evening, visit Mehtab Bagh for a peaceful sunset view of the Taj Mahal from across the river. The softer evening light creates beautiful photographic opportunities away from the daytime crowds. The calm atmosphere near the gardens offers a memorable first introduction to India’s most celebrated monument. Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 4 Agra to Jaipur

Early in the morning, visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise when the marble monument glows beautifully under changing natural light. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal continues to impress visitors through its symmetry, delicate marble inlay work, and emotional story. Your guide will explain the craftsmanship and historical significance behind one of the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces.

After breakfast, continue your journey toward Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. En route, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal city built by Emperor Akbar during the 16th century. Palaces, courtyards, mosques, and royal halls inside the complex reflect an extraordinary fusion of Persian, Mughal, and Indian design influences.

Arrive in Jaipur by evening and check into your heritage-style hotel. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur introduces travelers to Rajasthan’s royal legacy through colorful markets, palace architecture, traditional textiles, and historic forts. The atmosphere here feels vibrant yet deeply rooted in history. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 5 Jaipur Sightseeing Tour

The day begins with an excursion to Amber Fort, located on the outskirts of Jaipur amidst the Aravalli Hills. Massive gateways, mirrored halls, royal courtyards, and intricate fresco work showcase the grandeur of Rajput architecture. The elevated location of the fort also provides beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and Maota Lake below.

After returning to the city, continue sightseeing with visits to the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and the famous Hawa Mahal. Each monument reflects a different aspect of Jaipur’s royal history and scientific advancement. The City Palace still maintains connections with the royal family, while Jantar Mantar demonstrates India’s remarkable astronomical knowledge from earlier centuries.

In the evening, explore Jaipur’s vibrant bazaars known for gemstones, handcrafted textiles, block printing, jewelry, and traditional handicrafts. Travelers interested in local culture often enjoy interacting with artisans and observing traditional craftsmanship techniques. A traditional Rajasthani dinner with folk performances can also be arranged for a memorable cultural evening. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 6 Jaipur to Amritsar

Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Amritsar, one of the most spiritually significant cities in India. Upon arrival, meet your local representative and proceed toward your hotel. The atmosphere of Amritsar feels deeply connected to Sikh traditions, community service, and faith, creating a very different experience from the royal cities visited earlier in the journey.

Later in the afternoon, visit the iconic Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of Sikhism. The peaceful surroundings, shimmering gold-covered sanctum, and continuous devotional music create an unforgettable spiritual environment. Visitors from every religion and nationality are welcomed here equally, reflecting the inclusive philosophy of Sikh culture.

In the evening, proceed to the Wagah Border to witness the famous ceremonial retreat conducted jointly by Indian and Pakistani soldiers. The patriotic atmosphere, synchronized drills, and energetic crowd participation make this ceremony highly memorable for international visitors. Return to your hotel for overnight stay in Amritsar.

Day 7 Amritsar to Varanasi

Begin the morning with another optional visit to the Golden Temple, where early morning prayers create a calm and deeply spiritual atmosphere. Watching volunteers prepare and serve meals inside the world’s largest community kitchen offers a meaningful insight into Sikh values of equality and service. The serene reflections of the temple in the surrounding water become especially beautiful during the quieter morning hours.

Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Varanasi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Located on the banks of the sacred River Ganges, Varanasi holds immense religious importance for Hindus and attracts pilgrims from across India throughout the year. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and relax briefly before the evening activities begin.

At sunset, attend the famous Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Priests perform synchronized rituals using lamps, incense, chanting, and traditional instruments while hundreds of devotees gather along the riverbanks. The spiritual atmosphere, combined with the sight of illuminated ghats beside the flowing river, creates one of the most powerful cultural experiences of any India heritage tour. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 8 Varanasi Sightseeing

Before sunrise, enjoy an early morning boat ride on the River Ganges. As daylight slowly appears over the ancient ghats, you will witness pilgrims performing rituals, priests offering prayers, and local residents beginning their daily routines beside the sacred river. The scenes along the waterfront provide an authentic glimpse into the spiritual heart of India that few destinations in the world can replicate.

After breakfast, continue exploring Varanasi through its narrow lanes, hidden shrines, bustling markets, and important temples. Walking through the old city reveals centuries of living traditions where religion, music, philosophy, and daily life remain deeply connected. Your guide will explain the spiritual significance of the city and the rituals performed here by pilgrims.

Later in the afternoon, visit nearby Sarnath, one of Buddhism’s most sacred pilgrimage sites where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Ancient ruins, monasteries, and peaceful gardens create a calm contrast to the lively atmosphere of Varanasi city. Return to your hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 9 Departure from Varanasi

The final morning of your North India luxury journey begins at a relaxed pace after several memorable days filled with history, spirituality, royal heritage, and cultural experiences. Depending on your flight schedule, you may spend some quiet time near the ghats or enjoy breakfast overlooking the timeless atmosphere of Varanasi. The city’s sacred energy leaves a lasting impression on travelers who seek a deeper understanding of India beyond its famous landmarks.

Your private transfer will then take you to Varanasi Airport for your onward flight to Delhi and international connection home. Throughout the journey, you would have witnessed the remarkable diversity of North India — from Mughal monuments and Rajput palaces to Sikh traditions and ancient Hindu rituals performed beside the River Ganges. Every destination on this itinerary contributes a unique layer to the overall experience.

As the tour concludes, the memories of sunrise at the Taj Mahal, evening prayers at the Golden Temple, colorful bazaars of Jaipur, and spiritual ceremonies of Varanasi continue to remain unforgettable highlights.   because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
