LGBTQ+ Golden Triangle & Khajuraho Erotic Temples Tour

07 Nights / 08 Days   Fully Guided Tours   Private Car

Delhi - Agra - Khajuraho - Jaipur

Trip Overview

India has always celebrated love, desire, and human expression in its most magnificent and unapologetic forms - and nowhere is this more powerfully evident than at the extraordinary Khajuraho Temples of Madhya Pradesh. For LGBTQ+ travelers, Khajuraho carries a significance that goes far beyond its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These temples - built between 950 and 1050 AD by the Chandela dynasty - are adorned with some of the world's most breathtaking and frankly celebrated erotic sculptures, depicting human love, sensuality, and desire in all its forms with an openness, artistry, and complete absence of shame that feels remarkably modern and deeply resonant for queer travelers.

This 7 Nights / 8 Days LGBTQ+ Golden Triangle & Khajuraho Erotic Temples Tour combines the very best of India's most iconic travel circuit - Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur - with an extraordinary detour to Khajuraho, creating a journey that is simultaneously a masterclass in Indian history and architecture, a celebration of human love and expression in all its forms, and a deeply personal experience for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer travelers.

At Top Indian Holidays, this uniquely curated LGBTQ+ package is handled with complete care, cultural sensitivity, and genuine enthusiasm. Founder Nand Singh Rathore - with over 27 years of experience hosting international travelers including hundreds of LGBTQ+ guests from across the world - personally ensures that every hotel, every guide, and every experience on this tour reflects the warmth, privacy, and zero-judgment hospitality that our guests deserve and have come to expect.

LGBTQ+ Golden Triangle & Khajuraho Erotic Temples Tour :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

Welcome to India - Where Ancient Civilization Meets Modern Pride

Upon your arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, a dedicated representative from Top Indian Holidays will be waiting to greet you warmly with a personalized name board. You will be transferred comfortably in a private air-conditioned vehicle to your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming hotel in Delhi.

The remainder of the day is entirely at your leisure - rest, refresh, and begin to absorb the extraordinary energy of one of the world's great capital cities. If you arrive early and feel like exploring, your driver can take you for an informal evening drive past India Gate and through the illuminated boulevards of New Delhi - a spectacular first introduction to this magnificent city. Your guide will meet you this evening to brief you on the journey ahead and ensure you are completely settled and comfortable.

Overnight stay in Delhi

Day 2 Full Day Delhi Sightseeing

A City of Empires - Old Delhi & New Delhi

After breakfast at your hotel, your private English-speaking guide collects you for a full, immersive day exploring both the ancient and modern faces of Delhi - a city that has served as the capital of no fewer than seven successive empires over more than a thousand years of continuous history.

Begin in Old Delhi with an exhilarating rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk - the ancient market street that has been the beating commercial heart of the city since the 17th century, alive today with spice merchants, street food vendors, silk shops, and the extraordinary sensory richness of a place that has seen emperors, saints, and revolutionaries walk its lanes. Visit the imposing Jama Masjid - India's largest mosque, its three great domes and two soaring minarets rising above the rooftops of Old Delhi - and the magnificent Red Fort, whose vast red sandstone ramparts once enclosed the most splendid royal court on earth. Pay your respects at the peaceful Raj Ghat - the simple black marble memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.

Move into New Delhi for a scenic drive past India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Parliament House before visiting two extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the soaring Qutub Minar, the world's tallest brick minaret, and the hauntingly beautiful Humayun's Tomb - the garden mausoleum that established the architectural template for everything that would follow, including the Taj Mahal itself.

Return to your hotel for dinner and rest after a rich and deeply rewarding day.

Overnight stay in Delhi

Day 3 Delhi to Agra

The Taj Mahal - Love's Greatest Monument

After breakfast and hotel checkout, your private vehicle departs for Agra - approximately 3.5 to 4 hours along the Yamuna Expressway. Once the glittering capital of the Mughal Empire at the height of its power, Agra is today synonymous with one thing above all others - the Taj Mahal.

Check into your LGBTQ+ friendly hotel and freshen up before heading out for your first encounter with the monument that has drawn lovers, dreamers, and travelers to this city for nearly four centuries. The Taj Mahal - built between 1632 and 1653 by Emperor Shah Jahan as an eternal tribute to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal - is at once the world's most perfect building and its most profound declaration that love deserves to be immortalized. For LGBTQ+ travelers, standing before the Taj Mahal carries a resonance that is both universal and deeply personal.

After the Taj Mahal, visit the formidable Agra Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose red sandstone walls enclose palaces, mosques, and audience halls of extraordinary beauty - and the delicate, exquisitely carved Itmad-Ud-Daulah (Baby Taj), the small but perfectly formed marble mausoleum that first introduced the inlaid pietra dura stonework that would reach its ultimate expression in the Taj Mahal itself.

Return to your hotel for dinner and rest.

Overnight stay in Agra. Note: The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.

Day 4 Agra to Khajuraho

Sunrise at the Taj - Then Journey to the Temples of Love

Wake before dawn for a magical sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal - the most breathtaking time to experience this wonder of the world, as the first light of morning transforms the white marble from pale grey to the most luminous, incandescent white imaginable. This is a moment that no photograph can fully capture and no traveler ever forgets.

Return to your hotel for breakfast and check out. Today you make the journey to Khajuraho - approximately 6 hours by private car through the heart of Madhya Pradesh, passing through the rural landscapes of central India. Your driver will ensure the journey is comfortable with appropriate rest stops along the way.

Arrive in Khajuraho in the late afternoon and check into your LGBTQ+ welcoming hotel. As the sun sets, make your way to the Western Group of Temples for the spectacular Sound & Light Show - a dramatic and beautifully produced evening presentation that brings the history of the Chandela dynasty and the creation of these extraordinary temples alive through light, narration, and music. It is the perfect introduction to what awaits you tomorrow morning.

Overnight stay in Khajuraho

Day 5 Full Day Khajuraho Temple Exploration

The Temples That Celebrate All of Human Love

This is the day that makes this particular tour unique among all LGBTQ+ India itineraries - a full, unhurried, deeply immersive exploration of the Khajuraho Temples with your private expert guide.

Built between 950 and 1050 AD by the Chandela Rajput dynasty, the temples of Khajuraho represent the absolute pinnacle of medieval Indian temple architecture - and their extraordinary exterior friezes of erotic sculpture have made them one of the most discussed, debated, and celebrated artistic achievements in human history. Approximately 10% of the sculptures at Khajuraho depict erotic scenes - but to focus only on this aspect is to miss the larger, more remarkable truth: these temples present human life, love, desire, and spiritual aspiration as part of a single, unified, beautiful whole. For LGBTQ+ travelers, the openness, artistry, and complete lack of shame with which these ancient sculptures celebrate human love in all its forms makes Khajuraho a profoundly moving and personally significant destination.

Begin with the magnificent Western Group of Temples - the largest, finest, and most visited group, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crown jewel is the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple - soaring 30 meters high, its exterior covered in over 800 sculptures of extraordinary refinement and sensuality, depicting gods, goddesses, celestial nymphs, and lovers in an infinite variety of poses. Also within the Western Group are the beautifully preserved Lakshmana Temple, the Vishvanatha Temple, and the Chitragupta Temple - each with its own distinctive sculptural program and architectural character.

After lunch, visit the Eastern Group of Temples - a quieter, less visited cluster that includes several beautiful Jain temples alongside Hindu shrines, their sculptures equally refined and their atmosphere more contemplative. The Parsvanatha Temple - the largest of the Jain temples - is particularly notable for its exquisite and unusually sensuous carvings of female figures that rival anything in the Western Group for sheer artistic accomplishment.

Your guide will provide informed, sensitive, and genuinely fascinating commentary throughout - placing the sculptures in their historical, philosophical, and artistic context in a way that enriches the experience immeasurably.

End the day with a quiet dinner at your hotel, reflecting on one of the most extraordinary days of cultural and personal discovery that India has to offer.

Overnight stay in Khajuraho

Day 6 Khajuraho to Jaipur

From the Temples of Central India to the Pink City of Rajasthan

After breakfast and hotel checkout, your private vehicle departs for Jaipur - a long but scenic drive of approximately 7 to 8 hours through the landscapes of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Your driver will ensure comfortable rest stops and a lunch break at a good restaurant along the way.

En route, stop at the remarkable Chand Baori step wells at Abhaneri - one of Rajasthan's most spectacular and photogenic hidden treasures, with 3,500 narrow steps descending 20 meters into the earth in perfect geometric symmetry. This extraordinary structure - built in the 9th century - has appeared in several Hollywood films and is one of those places that photographs cannot adequately prepare you for.

Arrive in Jaipur in the evening and check into your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming heritage hotel. Jaipur - the legendary Pink City of Rajasthan - is one of India's most beautiful and romantic destinations, a city of rose-pink palaces, magnificent forts, candlelit rooftop restaurants, and luxury heritage hotels that consistently rank among LGBTQ+ travelers' favorite places in all of India.

Overnight stay in Jaipur

Day 7 Full Day Jaipur Sightseeing

Royal Rajasthan - Forts, Palaces & the Pink City

After breakfast at your hotel, your private guide takes you on a comprehensive and deeply enjoyable day of sightseeing through Jaipur - one of India's finest and most photogenic cities, founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and meticulously planned according to the ancient principles of Vastu Shastra.

Begin with the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - Jaipur's most instantly recognizable landmark, its extraordinary five-storey facade of 953 latticed windows creating a facade of such intricate beauty that it has become one of the most photographed buildings in all of India. Drive to the spectacular Amber Fort - a magnificent hilltop palace complex of courtyards, mirrored halls, and sweeping city views that represents the finest expression of Rajput military and palatial architecture. Pause at Jal Mahal (Water Palace) for photographs - this hauntingly beautiful palace appears to float on the surface of Man Sagar Lake, its reflection shimmering in the water below.

The afternoon takes you into the heart of the walled Pink City for visits to the magnificent City Palace - a complex of courtyards, museums, and royal apartments where the Maharaja of Jaipur still resides - and the extraordinary Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the world's largest stone sundial. End at the Albert Hall Museum before spending a leisurely final hour exploring Jaipur's famous heritage markets - block-print fabrics, blue pottery, Kundan jewellery, leather goods, and a thousand other treasures await.

Overnight stay in Jaipur

Day 8 Jaipur Departure

Farewell from the Pink City - Until We Meet Again

Enjoy a leisurely final breakfast at your hotel before checking out. The morning is free for any last-minute exploration - perhaps a return to a market that caught your eye yesterday, a final chai at a rooftop cafe, or simply a quiet moment in the beautiful courtyard of your heritage hotel.

At the designated time, your private vehicle will transfer you to Jaipur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. You leave India carrying something that cannot be packed into a suitcase - the memory of temples that celebrated love without shame, monuments that immortalized devotion, and a country that, in its ancient heart, has always understood that beauty and desire are sacred.

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More

Top Indian Holiday helped us plan our fantastic 15 day trip to India. From the very beginning, Nand worked with us to create a trip within our budget and interests, guiding us through all of the trip logistics. He responded to our inquiries quickly and honestly. In India, we had a professional driver who accommodated our travel schedule. We mostly stayed in 4-star hotels and havelis, often in the company of other Indian travelers, enriching our experience. We were in touch with Nand throughout the trip and he was able to make adjustments to hotels when they weren’t at the level promised. One frustration was that some of the guides’ English language skills were weak, hurting their ability to give us the best information about the cities and historical sites. If you want a responsive, personalized trip, we recommend using Top Indian Holiday!  ...Read More

My husband, our 20-year-old son, and I had a wonderful trip to India in late October this year. We visited Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and also spent a couple of days in Ranthambore hoping to spot a tiger, though luck wasn’t on our side this time. Nand and his team provided exceptional personal service from the very beginning of our planning and throughout our time in India. We stayed in some nice hotels, but on one occasion the standard didn’t meet our expectations. Nand immediately arranged a more suitable alternative, which we greatly appreciated. When our son realised he had forgotten his medication at home, Nand and Ram stepped in to help; thanks to them, we were able to see a local doctor and obtain the medication we needed, something well beyond the planned itinerary. We also fell in love with a local candy during the trip, and the team surprised us by arranging some for us to take home, which was such a thoughtful touch. The last hotel on our trip, the Trident Gurgaon, another recommendation by Nand, truly stood out. It was the perfect place to switch off, relax, and feel completely pampered before heading home. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive, the cocktails and food were fantastic, and the pool was an absolute highlight. A gorgeous hotel with service that was just as impressive and conveniently located for Delhi International airport. Ram, our driver, navigated Delhi’s chaotic traffic and handled the long drives between cities with remarkable ease. We have no idea how he managed to stay so calm throughout—keep up the great work, Ram! Old Delhi (fun and chaotic), Taj Mahal (simply stunning) and the food were the highlights of our trip and we look forward to visiting India soon again.  ...Read More

We had a fantastic experience with Top Indian Holidays. Nand helped us settle in on itinerary (Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambore Tiger safari, and Agra), and provided our driver and local guides. Our driver Ram was consistently on time, very kind, and attentive—he did a wonderful job pointing out sights along the way and adjusting our itinerary whenever we had special requests. The car was also extremely comfortable, clean, and cool, which made our long travel days very enjoyable. We also appreciated that the rest stops were clean and not overly pushy with shopping. Nand’s communication before and during the trip was excellent. Overall, we truly enjoyed our experience and happily recommend Top Indian Holidays as an LGBTQ+ friendly service as well.  ...Read More

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.   ...Read More
