Rising dramatically above the city skyline, Gwalior Fort immediately introduces travelers to Central India’s royal and military legacy. The city itself blends ancient architecture, royal history, bustling bazaars, and elegant heritage structures that continue to preserve the atmosphere of earlier dynasties.

After check-in, enjoy a relaxed orientation experience through the city where old markets, palaces, and historic buildings reveal Gwalior’s cultural importance across centuries. Unlike larger metropolitan cities, Gwalior offers a quieter and more authentic heritage atmosphere where traditional lifestyles and historical identity remain deeply connected.

Later in the evening, relax at your heritage hotel while enjoying views of the illuminated fort rising above the city. The calm atmosphere and architectural surroundings create a memorable introduction to the cultural landscapes of Central India. Overnight stay in Gwalior.

Day 2 Gwalior Sightseeing

The morning begins with a guided exploration of the magnificent Gwalior Fort, often described as one of India’s most impressive hill forts. Massive defensive walls, grand gateways, intricate temples, royal palaces, and blue-tiled facades reveal centuries of military power and artistic refinement associated with Central India’s royal dynasties.

Continue sightseeing with visits to Man Singh Palace and Sas Bahu Temples where decorative carvings, courtyards, and detailed architecture showcase extraordinary craftsmanship from earlier eras. Panoramic views from the fort walls across the surrounding city further enhance the dramatic atmosphere of the experience.

Later, visit Jai Vilas Palace, an elegant royal residence reflecting strong European influences combined with Indian royal luxury. Grand halls, chandeliers, antique collections, and royal artifacts offer insight into the lavish lifestyle of Gwalior’s former rulers. Return to your hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 3 Gwalior to Jhansi

After breakfast, depart for Jhansi, one of India’s most historically significant cities associated with bravery, resistance, and the legendary Rani Lakshmibai. The scenic drive passes through rural landscapes, agricultural fields, and smaller settlements while offering glimpses into everyday life across Central India.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel before beginning the sightseeing experience. Visit Jhansi Fort where stories of India’s First War of Independence continue to echo through massive walls, cannons, gateways, and historic courtyards. The fort remains deeply connected with the legacy of Rani Lakshmibai and her courageous resistance against British rule.

Later, explore local markets and heritage areas where Bundelkhand culture continues to shape daily life through architecture, cuisine, and traditions. Travelers often appreciate the quieter historical atmosphere of Jhansi compared to India’s larger tourist cities. Overnight stay in Jhansi.

Day 4 Jhansi to Orchha

Following breakfast, continue toward Orchha, one of Central India’s most beautiful hidden heritage towns located beside the Betwa River. Unlike crowded tourist destinations, Orchha offers a peaceful atmosphere where ancient palaces, temples, and riverside cenotaphs remain remarkably preserved.

Upon arrival, check into your heritage-style hotel before beginning the sightseeing program. Visit Orchha Fort Complex including Jahangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, and Rai Praveen Mahal where elegant architecture, painted interiors, and royal courtyards reveal the artistic legacy of Bundela rulers.

Later in the evening, explore the riverside cenotaphs lining the Betwa River where sunset light creates beautiful reflections across the water and ancient structures. The peaceful surroundings and timeless atmosphere make Orchha one of Central India’s most rewarding cultural destinations. Overnight stay in Orchha.

Day 5 Orchha to Khajuraho

After breakfast, depart for Khajuraho while passing through scenic countryside landscapes and quieter rural regions rarely explored during conventional India tours. The route reveals traditional village life, agricultural communities, and landscapes that gradually transition toward Central India’s famous temple region.

Upon arrival, check into your luxury hotel before relaxing briefly ahead of the evening experience. Khajuraho remains internationally admired for its UNESCO-listed temples and extraordinary stone carvings representing one of India’s finest achievements in temple architecture.

Contrary to common perception, the temples represent a much broader cultural and spiritual understanding deeply rooted in Indian philosophy.

Visit Bee Falls, Jata Shankar Cave, and scenic viewpoints where travelers can appreciate Pachmarhi’s combination of spiritual significance and natural beauty. Ancient cave formations and peaceful forest surroundings contribute to the hill station’s timeless atmosphere.

Later, continue toward Dhupgarh, the highest point in Madhya Pradesh, admired for spectacular sunset views across rolling hills and forest landscapes.   because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
