Later travelers may visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, an important pilgrimage site located on Nilachal Hill. The temple complex offers sweeping views of the Brahmaputra River and the surrounding city landscape.

The evening can be spent exploring the vibrant markets of Guwahati, where traditional handicrafts and regional cuisine provide an introduction to the cultural atmosphere of Assam.

Day 2 Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park

After breakfast the journey continues toward Kaziranga National Park, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Asia. The drive travels through the fertile plains of Assam where rice fields, villages and tea gardens define the countryside.

As the route approaches Kaziranga, the landscape gradually changes into open grasslands and wetlands. These ecosystems provide the natural habitat for the park’s diverse wildlife population.

Arrival at your wildlife lodge allows time to relax and enjoy the peaceful environment surrounding the national park.

Day 3 Kaziranga Wildlife Safari

Early morning begins with a jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park, guided by experienced forest drivers familiar with the terrain. The safari moves through tall elephant grass and wetland areas where wildlife sightings are frequent.

Visitors often encounter the famous Indian one-horned rhinoceros, along with elephants, wild buffalo and several species of deer. The park also supports an impressive variety of birdlife, making it a popular destination for nature photographers.

Later in the afternoon another safari in a different zone of the park offers additional opportunities to explore the unique ecosystems of Kaziranga.

Day 4 Kaziranga to Shillong

The journey today moves from the plains of Assam into the cool mountain landscapes of Meghalaya. The drive gradually climbs into the Khasi Hills where forested mountains and river valleys dominate the scenery.

Along the route travelers stop at Umiam Lake, one of the most picturesque locations in Meghalaya. The lake stretches across a large valley surrounded by rolling hills and dense forests.

Arrival in Shillong introduces travelers to a lively hill city known for its pleasant climate and cultural charm.

Day 5 Shillong Sightseeing

Morning sightseeing begins with a visit to Shillong Peak, offering panoramic views across the hills and the city below. The viewpoint provides one of the most impressive perspectives of the region.

The journey continues to Elephant Falls, a scenic waterfall surrounded by forested walking paths. Visitors can observe the cascading water from multiple viewpoints along the trail.

Later travelers explore Ward’s Lake and the bustling Police Bazaar, where shops, cafés and local markets reflect the everyday culture of Shillong.

Day 6 Shillong to Cherrapunji

Today’s drive leads toward Cherrapunji, one of the most famous destinations in Meghalaya known for its dramatic waterfalls and mist-covered valleys. The route passes through rolling hills where clouds drift across deep gorges.

The first major attraction is Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. The water plunges dramatically from a high cliff into a deep gorge below, creating a spectacular natural landscape.

Later visits include Seven Sisters Falls and nearby limestone caves that highlight the geological diversity of the region.

Day 7 Living Root Bridges and Nature Trails

Morning exploration focuses on the famous Living Root Bridges, remarkable natural structures created by guiding the roots of rubber trees across streams. Over many years the roots grow strong enough to form stable bridges.

A trek through forest trails leads travelers to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge, one of the most impressive examples of this unique tradition.

The surrounding forests and streams create a peaceful environment where visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of Meghalaya.

Day 8 Cherrapunji to Gangtok

The journey today travels toward the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The route passes through the plains before gradually climbing into the mountain landscapes of the Eastern Himalayas.

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More

Top Indian Holiday helped us plan our fantastic 15 day trip to India. From the very beginning, Nand worked with us to create a trip within our budget and interests, guiding us through all of the trip logistics. He responded to our inquiries quickly and honestly. In India, we had a professional driver who accommodated our travel schedule. We mostly stayed in 4-star hotels and havelis, often in the company of other Indian travelers, enriching our experience. We were in touch with Nand throughout the trip and he was able to make adjustments to hotels when they weren’t at the level promised. One frustration was that some of the guides’ English language skills were weak, hurting their ability to give us the best information about the cities and historical sites. If you want a responsive, personalized trip, we recommend using Top Indian Holiday!  ...Read More

My husband, our 20-year-old son, and I had a wonderful trip to India in late October this year. We visited Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and also spent a couple of days in Ranthambore hoping to spot a tiger, though luck wasn’t on our side this time. Nand and his team provided exceptional personal service from the very beginning of our planning and throughout our time in India. We stayed in some nice hotels, but on one occasion the standard didn’t meet our expectations. Nand immediately arranged a more suitable alternative, which we greatly appreciated. When our son realised he had forgotten his medication at home, Nand and Ram stepped in to help; thanks to them, we were able to see a local doctor and obtain the medication we needed, something well beyond the planned itinerary. We also fell in love with a local candy during the trip, and the team surprised us by arranging some for us to take home, which was such a thoughtful touch. The last hotel on our trip, the Trident Gurgaon, another recommendation by Nand, truly stood out. It was the perfect place to switch off, relax, and feel completely pampered before heading home. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive, the cocktails and food were fantastic, and the pool was an absolute highlight. A gorgeous hotel with service that was just as impressive and conveniently located for Delhi International airport. Ram, our driver, navigated Delhi’s chaotic traffic and handled the long drives between cities with remarkable ease. We have no idea how he managed to stay so calm throughout—keep up the great work, Ram! Old Delhi (fun and chaotic), Taj Mahal (simply stunning) and the food were the highlights of our trip and we look forward to visiting India soon again.  ...Read More

We had a fantastic experience with Top Indian Holidays. Nand helped us settle in on itinerary (Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambore Tiger safari, and Agra), and provided our driver and local guides. Our driver Ram was consistently on time, very kind, and attentive—he did a wonderful job pointing out sights along the way and adjusting our itinerary whenever we had special requests. The car was also extremely comfortable, clean, and cool, which made our long travel days very enjoyable. We also appreciated that the rest stops were clean and not overly pushy with shopping. Nand’s communication before and during the trip was excellent. Overall, we truly enjoyed our experience and happily recommend Top Indian Holidays as an LGBTQ+ friendly service as well.  ...Read More

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.   ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More
