Golden Temple & Himalayas :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you before assisting with your transfer to the luxury hotel. India’s capital city introduces travelers to a fascinating blend of Mughal heritage, colonial elegance, modern architecture, and luxury hospitality. After your international journey, the remainder of the day is intentionally planned at a relaxed pace allowing time to settle comfortably before beginning the Himalayan adventure.

Depending on your arrival timing, enjoy a leisurely orientation drive through New Delhi where broad avenues, diplomatic districts, colonial-era landmarks, and modern commercial areas reflect the city’s sophisticated urban character. The contrast between historical architecture and modern infrastructure immediately creates an engaging first impression of India.

Later in the evening, relax at your luxury hotel or enjoy dinner at one of Delhi’s renowned fine-dining restaurants specializing in Indian cuisine. Your tour coordinator will also provide a complete briefing regarding the upcoming mountain journey through Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2 Delhi to Chandigarh

After breakfast, depart for Chandigarh, India’s first planned modern city designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier. The comfortable drive passes through fertile countryside landscapes, agricultural regions, and traditional North Indian towns while gradually transitioning toward the foothills of the Himalayas.

Upon arrival, check into your luxury hotel before beginning the sightseeing experience. Chandigarh presents a remarkably clean and organized atmosphere compared to India’s older cities while still offering beautiful gardens, lakes, and modern urban planning.

Later, visit the famous Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake where artistic sculptures, landscaped pathways, and peaceful waterfront views create a relaxing environment. The city’s calm atmosphere provides a refreshing introduction before entering the Himalayan mountain regions. Overnight stay in Chandigarh.

Day 3 Chandigarh to Manali

The morning begins with a scenic drive toward Manali, one of Himachal Pradesh’s most famous mountain destinations. As the route gradually ascends into the Himalayas, landscapes transform dramatically from plains into valleys filled with pine forests, mountain rivers, waterfalls, and snow-covered peaks.

Throughout the journey, travelers witness breathtaking scenery along winding mountain roads beside the Beas River. Traditional villages, apple orchards, and Himalayan settlements further enhance the visual beauty of the route, making the drive itself one of the major highlights of the itinerary.

Upon arrival in Manali, check into your luxury mountain resort surrounded by forests and valley views. The cool climate, fresh mountain air, and peaceful surroundings create an unforgettable Himalayan atmosphere. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 4 Manali Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin exploring Manali and its surrounding attractions including Hadimba Devi Temple, Old Manali, Tibetan monasteries, and scenic viewpoints across the valley. Cedar forests, traditional Himachali architecture, and mountain landscapes create one of North India’s most admired hill station experiences.

Continue sightseeing with visits to local cafés, artisan markets, and riverside areas where travelers can appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and natural beauty of the region. Manali’s blend of traditional mountain culture and modern tourism creates a unique and enjoyable environment.

Later in the evening, relax at your luxury resort while admiring panoramic Himalayan views. The calm atmosphere and cool weather make Manali especially rewarding for travelers seeking relaxation amidst mountain scenery. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 5 Solang Valley Excursion

The day begins with an excursion to Solang Valley, one of the most scenic mountain regions near Manali admired for open meadows, snow-covered peaks, adventure activities, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes. During winter months, the valley transforms into a snow paradise attracting visitors from across India and abroad.

Depending on the season, travelers may enjoy cable car rides, snow activities, mountain photography, or simply relaxing amidst the dramatic alpine scenery. The surrounding mountains and wide valley landscapes create excellent opportunities for photography and nature appreciation.

Later, return to Manali while stopping at scenic riverside viewpoints and local mountain villages along the route. The remainder of the evening can be spent enjoying the peaceful surroundings of your luxury resort. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 6 Manali to Dharamshala

Following breakfast, depart for Dharamshala, the spiritual home of the Tibetan community in India and residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The scenic drive passes through Himalayan valleys, pine forests, mountain villages, and river landscapes creating extraordinary views throughout the journey.

Upon arrival, check into your luxury mountain hotel before enjoying a relaxed evening amidst the peaceful surroundings of Dharamshala. Compared to Manali’s lively tourism atmosphere, Dharamshala offers a more spiritual and meditative environment deeply influenced by Tibetan culture and Buddhism.

Later, enjoy leisure time exploring local cafés, prayer flag-lined streets, and mountain viewpoints overlooking the Dhauladhar mountain range. The calm atmosphere and cool Himalayan air create a deeply refreshing experience. Overnight stay in Dharamshala.

Day 7 Dharamshala Sightseeing

The morning begins with a guided exploration of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj including Tibetan monasteries, prayer halls, local markets, and spiritual centers associated with Tibetan Buddhist culture. The colorful monasteries, monks in traditional robes, and peaceful surroundings create a unique atmosphere unlike any other destination in India.

Visit Namgyal Monastery and surrounding spiritual areas where prayer wheels, chants, and Buddhist traditions continue to shape everyday life. Travelers often appreciate learning about Tibetan history, culture, and philosophy while observing the peaceful rhythm of life within the Himalayan settlement.

Later, enjoy panoramic mountain views and leisure time exploring local artisan shops known for Tibetan handicrafts, prayer flags, woolens, jewelry, and handmade products. Return to your luxury hotel for overnight stay in Dharamshala.

Day 8 Dharamshala to Amritsar

After breakfast, depart for Amritsar while gradually descending from the Himalayan foothills toward the plains of Punjab. The changing landscapes from mountain valleys to fertile agricultural regions create a visually interesting journey across North India.

Upon arrival, check into your luxury hotel before proceeding toward the Golden Temple in the evening. Illuminated beautifully beside the sacred Amrit Sarovar, the Golden Temple creates one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmospheres in India.

The evening visit allows travelers to witness devotional prayers, sacred hymns, and the remarkable hospitality traditions of Sikhism. The shimmering gold structure reflected across calm waters beneath the night sky creates an unforgettable spiritual experience. Overnight stay in Amritsar.

Day 9 Amritsar & Departure

The morning begins with another peaceful visit to the Golden Temple where early morning prayers and spiritual rituals create a calm and reflective atmosphere. Travelers often appreciate observing the community kitchen known as Langar, where thousands of visitors are served meals daily regardless of religion or background.

Later, continue sightseeing with a visit to Jallianwala Bagh and the Wagah Border ceremony where patriotic performances and military traditions create an energetic cultural experience along the India-Pakistan border.

Your unforgettable Golden Temple & Himalayas Tour concludes today after sightseeing. According to your onward travel schedule, our representative will assist with your transfer to Amritsar Airport or railway station for your departure journey.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
