Mumbai - Goa

Trip Overview

Two destinations. Seven days. And between them, the full spectrum of what makes India so extraordinary for LGBTQ+ travelers. This 6 Nights / 7 Days Gay Friendly Mumbai & Goa Combined Tour pairs India's most cosmopolitan and most LGBTQ+ vibrant city with its most open-hearted, most beautiful, and most consistently welcoming beach destination - creating a journey that moves from the relentless urban energy of Mumbai to the sun-soaked, sea-breezed, genuinely liberating atmosphere of Goa in one seamless, perfectly balanced arc.

Mumbai is India's greatest city by almost any measure - its population, its economic output, its cultural production, its architectural richness, its diversity of cuisine, and its LGBTQ+ visibility. The Queer Azaadi Mumbai Pride March - held annually in February - is one of Asia's largest Pride events. Bandra - Mumbai's most cosmopolitan neighborhood - has an openly welcoming café culture and social scene. And Bollywood - the industry that defines Mumbai's global identity - has been telling increasingly bold queer stories that are reshaping cultural attitudes toward the LGBTQ+ community across the entire subcontinent. Mumbai is a city that moves fast, thinks big, and - at its best - makes room for everyone.

Goa is India's exhale. Four hundred and fifty years of Portuguese colonial rule left this small coastal state with a social baseline of openness, personal freedom, and international cultural mixing that sets it apart from anywhere else in India. Its beaches - from the dramatic cliffs of Vagator to the pristine crescent of Palolem - are among the most beautiful in Asia. Its food - fresh seafood, Goan curry, Portuguese-influenced pastries and wines - is extraordinary. Its nightlife - beach parties, rooftop bars, music festivals - is legendary. And its attitude toward gay and lesbian travelers is the most naturally, organically welcoming of any destination in India - not because of policy or effort but simply because Goa has always been this way.

Together, these two destinations create a tour of extraordinary variety - urban and coastal, energetic and relaxed, culturally immersive and purely pleasurable - that represents one of the finest short LGBTQ+ India experiences available.

  • Gateway of India & Colaba waterfront in Mumbai

Gay Friendly Mumbai & Goa Combined Tour :- Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Mumbai

Welcome to India's Greatest City

Upon arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, your representative will be waiting with a name board to escort you to your private air-conditioned vehicle. Transfer to your pre-selected LGBTQ+ welcoming hotel - ideally in Bandra or Colaba, both excellent bases for exploring Mumbai's most interesting neighborhoods.

Check in and freshen up before heading out for your first Mumbai evening. Make your way to Marine Drive - the sweeping waterfront promenade lit at night in the glittering arc that Mumbaikars have always called the Queen's Necklace - and continue to the magnificent Gateway of India at the Colaba waterfront. The combination of the great basalt arch, the illuminated Taj Mahal Palace Hotel behind it, and the dark Arabian Sea before it creates one of the most immediately impressive urban images in all of India.

Dinner this evening in Colaba - fresh seafood, Parsi cuisine, or a table at the legendary Leopold Cafe - before returning to your hotel through a city that is, at this hour, absolutely and gloriously alive.

Overnight stay in Mumbai.

Day 2 Full Day Mumbai City Tour

Bollywood, Bandra & the Extraordinary Soul of Mumbai

After breakfast, your private guide takes you on a full and genuinely rewarding day through Mumbai - a city whose layers of history, culture, commerce, and creativity reward the curious traveler endlessly.

Begin with Dhobi Ghat - the world's largest open-air laundry, its hundreds of washing bays a spectacle of color, motion, and organized human activity that is completely unique to Mumbai. Continue to Dharavi for a responsible community walking tour - an eye-opening and perspective-changing encounter with one of Asia's most remarkable urban communities, its network of small industries and workshops generating enormous economic activity in a space that most outsiders have only ever seen from the outside.

After lunch, the afternoon takes you to Bandra - Mumbai's most cosmopolitan and most openly LGBTQ+ welcoming neighborhood. Walk along Carter Road as the afternoon light softens over the Arabian Sea, explore the café culture and boutiques of Hill Road and Linking Road, and let your guide introduce you to the spaces - cafes, galleries, bookshops, and bars - that make Bandra the neighborhood it is for queer travelers and queer locals alike.

End the day at Juhu Beach at sunset - the beach at this hour alive with the chaotic, colorful joy of thousands of Mumbaikars enjoying their city's waterfront - before dinner in Juhu or Bandra at one of your guide's recommended restaurants.

Overnight stay in Mumbai.

Day 3 Bollywood & South Mumbai Heritage Morning, then Flight to Goa

The Film City & the Old City - Then Goa Awaits

After breakfast, your guide takes you on a focused and enjoyable morning dedicated to two of Mumbai's most rewarding experiences. Begin with a Bollywood film city tour or studio visit - an insight into the world's most prolific film industry and its increasingly visible and bold engagement with LGBTQ+ stories and characters.

After the Bollywood experience, spend an hour in the Kala Ghoda art district - Mumbai's cultural quarter, its galleries, street art, and creative spaces making it one of the city's most interesting and most photogenic neighborhoods. Browse Crawford Market for a final encounter with old Mumbai's extraordinary commercial energy before heading back to your hotel to collect luggage.

Transfer to Mumbai Airport for your short flight to Goa - approximately one hour in the air, but a world away in atmosphere, pace, and feeling. Upon arrival at Goa Airport, your representative will transfer you to your pre-selected LGBTQ+ friendly beach resort or boutique hotel. Check in, change into something comfortable, and step outside into the warm Goan evening - the sound of the sea nearby, the smell of frangipani in the air, and the immediate, unmistakable sense of having arrived somewhere that wants you to relax completely and be entirely yourself.

Dinner this evening at a beach shack or restaurant recommended by your guide - fresh seafood, cold Kingfisher, and the first beautiful Goa night.

Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 4 North Goa Sightseeing & Beach Day

Heritage, Cafes & Goa's Most Vibrant Coast

After a relaxed breakfast, set out with your guide to explore the best of North Goa - balancing cultural discovery with the particular pleasure of Goa's most beautiful and most characterful beaches.

Begin with Old Goa - a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India's most remarkable colonial quarters. The magnificent Basilica of Bom Jesus - housing the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier - and the grand Se Cathedral - one of the largest churches in Asia - are among the most stunning examples of Portuguese Baroque architecture anywhere in the world. Continue to Panaji - Goa's charming, laid-back capital - and explore the colorful Latin Quarter of Fontainhas - narrow cobblestone lanes, pastel-painted Portuguese houses, art galleries, and quirky cafes that have made this neighborhood a particular favorite among LGBTQ+ travelers for its creative, bohemian, genuinely welcoming atmosphere.

The afternoon belongs to the beach. Vagator and Anjuna - known for their dramatic red laterite cliffs, artistic crowd, and LGBTQ+ friendly beach shacks - are ideal for those who love beautiful scenery with a relaxed, creative energy. Baga and Calangute offer more action for those who want watersports and a livelier beach scene. Your guide will recommend the right beach for your mood and preference.

This evening, explore either the Wednesday Flea Market at Anjuna or the Saturday Night Market at Arpora - sprawling, colorful, music-filled open-air markets that are among the most enjoyable evening experiences in all of Goa, their stalls selling everything from handmade jewellery to vintage clothing to fresh-cooked food from a dozen different cuisines.

Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 5 South Goa - Serenity, Beauty & Sunset Beaches

The Quieter, More Beautiful Side of Goa

Today is entirely dedicated to the quieter, more luxurious, more serene world of South Goa - a complete contrast to the energy of the north, with pristine white beaches, swaying palms, and some of Goa's finest boutique resorts and seafood restaurants.

Begin with a drive along the stunning South Goa coastline - the landscape here is noticeably different from the north, the beaches wider and less crowded, the vegetation lusher, the overall atmosphere more private and more genuinely beautiful. Visit Colva Beach - South Goa's longest and most popular stretch of white sand - and continue to the magnificent Palolem Beach - a perfect crescent-shaped bay that consistently ranks among the most beautiful beaches in all of Asia. Its calm, shallow waters, gently curving shoreline, and backdrop of coconut palms make it ideal for swimming, kayaking, or simply floating in the warm Arabian Sea.

Continue to Agonda Beach - quieter still, less visited, and consistently voted one of India's finest beaches for its pristine natural setting and genuinely tranquil atmosphere. South Goa is a particular favorite among lesbian couples and LGBTQ+ travelers who value privacy, serenity, and a slower pace - and Agonda delivers all of these in abundance.

Spend the afternoon entirely at the beach of your choice - swimming, reading, watching the fishing boats return in the late afternoon, or simply lying in the shade of a coconut palm listening to the sea. As the sun begins its descent toward the Arabian Sea, find a perfect spot on the beach or at a clifftop restaurant for one of Goa's legendary sunset dinners - fresh king prawns, cold white wine, and the sky turning every shade of orange and pink above the water in a display of natural beauty that feels almost designed for the occasion.

Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 6 Goa Free Day & Leisure

Your Goa - At Your Own Perfect Pace

Today belongs entirely to you - a free day in Goa with no structured sightseeing and no particular agenda beyond enjoyment, relaxation, and the pleasure of being somewhere genuinely beautiful in complete freedom.

The morning might begin with a yoga session on the beach - many of Goa's finest beach hotels and wellness centers offer morning classes in settings of extraordinary natural beauty - or simply a long, slow breakfast at a favorite beach café with no particular reason to be anywhere at any particular time.

The day can take any direction that appeals - a spice plantation tour in Goa's lush interior, where the cultivation of cardamom, pepper, vanilla, and nutmeg has been part of Goa's agricultural life for centuries and where a guided walk through the plantation followed by a traditional Goan lunch prepared with fresh plantation spices is one of the most enjoyable and most genuinely different experiences that Goa offers. Or a water sports session at Baga or Calangute - jet skiing, parasailing, or a banana boat ride for those who want some adrenaline with their beach holiday. Or a cooking class focusing on traditional Goan cuisine - learning to prepare xacuti, vindaloo, and bebinca with a local cook in a genuine Goan kitchen.

Or simply nothing at all - a day on the beach, in the sea, at the pool, or on your hotel terrace with a good book and the sound of the waves. In Goa, doing nothing particularly well is considered one of the finest things a traveler can aspire to - and for LGBTQ+ travelers who have spent a lifetime being asked to be more careful, more discreet, and more aware of their surroundings, a day of complete, uncomplicated freedom in one of India's most welcoming destinations is something genuinely worth savoring.

Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 7 Goa Departure

Farewell from Rainbow Goa - Until the Sea Calls You Back

A final leisurely breakfast in Goa - perhaps on your hotel terrace with the sound of the sea, or at a favorite beach café with a last strong Goan coffee and a plate of bebinca - the rich, layered local dessert that somehow tastes exactly like Goa feels. Warm, generous, unhurried, and completely unlike anything else.

The morning is free for any last pleasures - a final swim, a walk on the beach, a last browse through a market stall or boutique - before your private vehicle transfers you to Goa Airport for your onward flight.

You leave carrying the memory of two of India's most extraordinary destinations - a city that is simultaneously the country's most ambitious and its most generous, and a beach state that has spent five centuries perfecting the art of making everyone feel welcome. Between them, Mumbai and Goa have given you India at its most energetic and its most relaxed, its most complex and its most simply beautiful.

Travel proud. Travel freely. Come back to Goa - the sea will be here, the sunsets will be here, and the welcome will always be exactly as warm.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

Our trip with Top Indian Holidays was fantastic. Our family of five, including 3 small kids, visited the Golden Triangle of India. It was a wonderful cultural experience. I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe. Our tour guide Nand was super nice and informative. Our kids’ favorite stop was the Monkey Temple :) The rickshaw ride through Delhi was exciting and fun.  ...Read More

I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
