Agra

Overview

Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is home to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and is situated on the banks of the River Yamuna. It offers a glimpse into the Mughal empire's architectural heritage alongside Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, 2 more UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Agra is a must-visit if one lives in or travels to India because of the combination of history, architecture, and romance that gives the city its enchantment.

Agra ranks as the 24th most populated city in India and among the most populated cities in Uttar Pradesh. It is hardly surprising that Agra, along with Delhi, is a part of the well-known Golden Triangle Circuit for visitors given its lengthy and rich history.

Detail Itinerary

Your tour guide will be waiting for you when you arrive at the Delhi airport, and he will drive you to Agra. After arrival check into the hotel. Then, get off for an excursion. Your guide  will accompany you the entire day and provide you directions to the places you should see.

Destinations to explore on day 1 are as follows;

Visit Taj Mahal - The Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an acronym for the Persian phrase "Crown of Palaces." The Taj Mahal, one of 7 wonders of the world, is located in Agra beside the Yamuna River. The Mughal Emperor Jahan erected it as a monument to honour Mumtaz Mahal, his third wife. The grave of Shah Jahan itself is also located there. However, when the Taj is covered in mist and bathed in a soft crimson glow in the relatively calm of the morning, it is at its finest appealing. It is well worth visiting at various times because of how its enormous marble surfaces change colour as they become shaded or reflect light. The colour ranges from a soft grey and yellow to a bright cream and dazzling white.

Visit Agra Fort - Agra Fort, a nearly a century red sandstone castle, served as the capital city of several Mughal emperors. Here, exploring is like exploring a city inside a city. The Jahangir Mahal, a huge palace with exquisite Hindu-inspired details (such overhanging enclosed balconies), Central Asian architectural elements, and other features, is the most remarkable structure in the Agra Fort (such as the signature pointed arches). Visitors can view the central court, which is gilded, where royal women once occupied themselves.

Visit Itimad - ud- Daulah's Tomb - Itimad-ud-Tomb, Daulah's a second of Agra's magnificent buildings, is located on the Yamuna River's banks. The ashes of Mirza Ghiyas Beg, a Persian officer who worked for the Mughal empire, and his wife are kept in the mausoleum.

Start your tour after the morning breakfast. Keep the schedule simple as you have to leave by the evening.
Destination to visit today are as follows;

Visit Mehtab Bagh- Mehtab Bagh, sometimes referred to as Moonlight Garden, is a 300-meter-perimeter square garden complex where the Taj Mahal almost seems to span the Yamuna River. Only this single park has remained out of the about a dozen gardens the Mughals built nearby. In comparison to the site's situation in the midst of the 1990s when it was essentially a mound of sand, the park currently has some gorgeous flowering trees and plants. The Archeological Survey of India is putting a lot of effort into the project and has already started planting Mughal-era plants in order to help Mehtab Bagh regain its previous splendour.

Visit Akbar's Mausoleum - Emperor Akbar the Great ruled the Muslim kingdom for close to 50 years during which time his empire tripled in size and encompassed the majority of the northern portion of the Indian subcontinent. Akbar's Mausoleum, one of Agra's most well-known tourist destinations, houses his remains as well as those of 2 of his daughters. A magnificent tomb made of marble and sandstone with colourful marble inlay can be found in the compound. Around the building are Mughal gardens where antelope, deer, monkeys, and even the few peacocks live.

Visit the Jama Masjid in Agra - The architecture and design of the Jama Masjid are fanciful in character. The Jama Masjid in Agra, which was constructed of red sandstone and marble embellishments, is one of the city's most incredible tourist attractions. It consists of a spacious courtyard that is surrounded by cloisters on three sides

Visit Chini Ka Rauza - The grave of Allama Afzal Khan Mullah, Shah Jahan's prime minister, is located at Chini ka Rauza. It was also referred to as China Tomb and was constructed around 1628 and 1639 with an exquisite combination of Indo-Persian design. The glazed tile work, or chini, that is used to embellish it makes it the first landmark of its kind.

After visiting this last spot of the trip. Tourist will be driven back to Delhi from where he can catch the flight for his next stop. And, the tour ends with that.

Plan your trip to Agra and dive into its authenticity.
