Buland Darwaza

As the name suggest, the palace having grand opening doors. Buland Darwaza is magnificent because it is 54 meter tall supported with giant gates resting n strong pillars carved out in proper Mughal style it was built in 1601 after the victory of Akbar over Gujrat. This entire gate is made up of res sand stone with marble and granite inlays on it. The most outstanding feature of this Buland Darwaza is the reflection f religious tolerance of Akbar where one of the inscription on the gate says in Persian ‘Jesus son of Mary said, “The world is a bridge pass over it, but build no houses upon it. He, who hopes for a day, may hope for eternity; but the World endures but an hour. Spend it in prayer for the rest is unseen”’.

Dewan-e-Khaas

As the name suggest Dewan-e-Khaas is meant for those who are the closed one of the king for discussing private and confidential matter as just opposite to Dewaan-e-Aam. This is created in the shape of a hall way support four corners by a continuous and straight series of pillars. Mostly meeting of religious leaders for discussing political matters with the king, such meetings are organized in Dewan-e-khaas.

Jodha Bai Palace (Mariam Uz Zamani Palace)

This palace is a unique example of Hindu Rajputana styles with the Islamic Mughal style due to Jodhabai belonging to the Hindu Rajput clans of Amer (Jaipur). Such palaces were popularly known as Harem where all queens of Akbar lives together jointly for maintaining discipline and integrity. Jodha Bai was given the title of Mariam Uz Zamani which was given to that queen who gave birth to the son who will further continue the legacy of family.

Salim Chishti ki Dargah

This Dargah was built from white marble with miniature carving on mesmerizing pillar and roof tops. The most outstanding feature of this structure is the Jaalis which were made magnificently on the side walls of Dargah. This mausoleum belongs to the very famous and renowned sufi saint Saleem Chishti to whom Akbar followed very religiously.

Jama Masjid

Popularly also known as the central mosque was built by Akbar under the directions of Salim Chishti. The structure is rectangular and made with carved red sandstone. The inside of the mosque is decorated with stone carved Mirhabs or altars and is one of the prized collection of Mughal Architecture and marks the transition of the Islamic architecture which was combined with the Hindu style architecture.

Panch Mahal

Amongst the other magnificent structures of Agra Panch Mahal is yet another orate building reflecting the pyramidical structure which has 5 stories as it is named after. Main purpose of this building was meant for leisure and entertainment hence, theatrical performance, musical evenings and many other entertaining and folk presentations organized in this palace.
