Once you've had the morning to yourself, go out on a private tour from Top Indian Holidays to see the vibrant city of Mumbai and take in the architecture that reflects the British Colonial era. See the UNESCO World Heritage Site Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, formerly known as Victoria Terminus, before continuing to the stunning Malabar Hill and Marine Drive, which are recognized for their affluent residential neighborhoods. Subsequently, there is Mani Bhawan, a small museum that showcases the art of Mahatma Gandhi, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum, previously the Prince of Wales Museum. The latter is home to a vast collection of miniature paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries, carved ivory, and art from Nepal and Tibet. After that, make a photo stop at Dhobi Ghat, a colorful outdoor wash, to get a peek of local life.

Recommended Accommodations: The Oberoi, Mumbai

Day 3 Elephanta Caves

Take a one-hour boat journey across Mumbai Harbor to the World Heritage Site of Elephanta Island. Visit the island's finely carved cave temples to Shiva, the Hindu sun deity, by climbing 120 steps. Day 4 Udaipur sightseeing

Tour Udaipur today, beginning at the magnificent City Palace with its stunning views of Lake Pichola. Pass the Jagdish Temple, which has murals, mosaics, well-carved chhatries (cenotaphs), and a stunning facade, before entering through Hathi Pol (elephant gate). Proceed to the Fateh Prakash Palace's Crystal Gallery, which has a variety of crystal objects, including beds, vases, and fountains. Finish in the Garden of the Maids of Honor, Sahelion Ki Bari, which is located along Lake Fateh Sagar's shoreline. After spending the afternoon at your leisure, set off for a peaceful Lake Pichola boat this evening. Admire the breathtaking vistas of Udaipur while sailing by Jag Mandir Palace. This amazing structure, which was constructed in 1622, has a row of marble elephants that seem to be guarding the island.

Recommended Accommodations: The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur

Day 5 Flight to Jaipur and sightseeing

Take an early morning flight to Jaipur. After arriving, begin your tour of the "Pink City" with a private guide. See the walled City Palace, a vast complex of Mughal and Rajput buildings with gardens and courtyards. Explore the Jantar Mantar, an observatory next door, which houses intriguing 18th-century devices like the Dhruva Yantra, which can be used to find the position of the Zodiac signs and the North Star. Make a final stop at the Palace of the Winds, also known as Hawa Mahal, which is made of pink sandstone. This five-story palace, constructed in 1799 by Sawai Pratap Singh for the women in his royal harem, is arguably the most well-known structure in Jaipur. After that, check into your hotel and have a free evening.

Recommended Accommodations: The Oberoi Rajvillas, Jaipur.

Day 6 Jaipur sightseeing

Visit Albert Hall, which is now the Central Museum, this morning to see exhibits that use brassware, ceramics, woodwork, and costumes to depict Rajasthani village life. Proceed to the Anokhi Museum, which is devoted to the age-old crafts of block and hand printing and is housed in a completely renovated haveli (townhouse from the Mughal era). See the magnificent Amber Fort, built in the Mughal style and overlooking Maota Lake. Originally the state capital of Jaipur, this intricately designed UNESCO World Heritage Site is made of marble and red sandstone. Known for its exquisitely adorned temples, elaborate halls, and formidable exteriors that appear to sprout from the rough rocks, this hilltop fort is regarded as one of the best in all of India. Following lunch, you can decide to spend time with your guide at a vibrant local market or spend time exploring on your own.

Recommended Accommodations: The Oberoi Rajvillas, Jaipur.

Day 7 Drive to Agra and sightseeing

Get up early, head to Agra, and stop along the way for lunch before seeing the UNESCO-designated royal ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri in India. It is now an empty 16th-century city with palaces, mosques, tombs, courtyards, and even secret passageways. It was once the capital of Emperor Akbar. Proceed to Agra and make your hotel reservation. Visit the unparalleled Taj Mahal, Agra's greatest jewel, this evening at sunset to witness the departing light wash it in a beautiful orange hue.

Afterward, travel to Agra Fort, a Mughal palace from the fourteenth century that combines ornamental and defensive design. Head to Itmad-Ud-Daulah, popularly referred to as "Baby Taj," a Persian-style tomb whose architectural elegance matches that of the Taj Mahal.

Recommended Accommodations: The Oberoi, New Delhi

Day 10 Delhi sightseeing

Discover this intriguing city today. First, focus on vibrant Old Delhi, where you step into the enticing pandemonium of the Chandni Chowk shopping bazaar and take an exhilarating rickshaw ride around it. The expansive Red Fort, called for its walls made of red sandstone, is another sight you pass. The gigantic fort was begun by Shah Jahan, the same man who created the Taj Mahal, and it ultimately played a role in his downfall when his son imprisoned him there. Head on to Raj Ghat. Here, a black marble platform designates the location of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation after his 1948 assassination. Explore some of the most important locations in New Delhi during your trip after eating lunch at a neighborhood restaurant. See the magnificent Humayun's Tomb, built in the 16th century under the Gupta dynasty and regarded as the first garden tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It is crowned by a bulbous dome. Humayun's Tomb, a magnificent example of Mughal architecture, had an impact on the extraordinary Taj Mahal in the future. The ceremonial avenue of the pond-flanked Rajpath, the tall stone arch of India Gate, and the former residence of the President of India, the copper-domed Rashtrapati Bhawan, are all visible.

because my time with him in India was the most organized and exciting two weeks of my existence. I spent two weeks touring Southern India with a class of 16 American students and one professor who had never been to India, but thanks to Nand, the trip was seamless. He took us to incredible locations and called upon his personal connections to create opportunities for us and ensure that we were involved and informed. The entire time we were there, Nand made India feel like home. Somehow, he found a way for us to experience a range of incredible, new experiences in a completly unfamiliar place, while always ensuring our safety, comfort, and awareness. There is nothing Nand will not do to make your trip incredible. I cannot reccommend him enough.  ...Read More

My wife had a wonderful 28 day trip around the main sights in Rajasthan, The Golden Triangle and onwards to Varanasi. Nand organised the hotels to our budget, the driver and guides all of which were very good. Without his expertise this trip would not have been possible so a big "thank you"!  ...Read More

I cannot recommend them enough. The hotel accommodations were great (we stayed at the trident hotels). The food was delicious. Everyone we met in India was so friendly and kind. We always felt safe.   I’ve made such wonderful memories here in India. For a week, I had the chance to work on my sister’s women’s healthcare project in the village of Chandelao, and then spent a weekend in Jaipur. The accommodations have been top notch, and both our guides- Kartika and Nand Singh- have become our good friends. Top Indian Holidays is a tour company dedicated to exceptional service. Despite traveling alone with my sister, we felt so safe and at home. I truly have fallen in love with I did!  ...Read More

Last year, I travelled throughout northern India for one month as part of a course at Saint Mary’s College. We had such incredible adventures, thanks to our in country guide and friend Nand Singh Rathore. I was so impressed by his company’s commitment to excellent hospitality that I planned another visit this March. The main purpose of my trip was to work on a women’s healthcare project in Chandelao. Top Indian Holidays was so helpful in organizing transportation and accommodations. Our guide, Kartika, and our driver, Bhim, made sure we were well taken care of. My project would not have gone smoothly if it weren’t for them- and I am so proud to call them my new friends! My sister and I stayed an extra weekend in Jaipur, and Nand Singh was amazing as usual. He is so, so good to us!!! If you visit India through Top Indian Holidays, I assure you that you will have a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience!  ...Read More

Top Indian Holidays is THE BEST! We came to India for the Jain Festival in south India at Shravanabelagola (which happens only once every 12 years) and continued on to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and to sit for teachings with His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. Top Indian Holidays handled all of the arrangements expertly, providing first rate service, excellent accommodations, transport, and first rate local guides! We've travelled through many, many countries with numerous very good travel agencies but none have provided the excellent service that Top Indian Holidays provided. They are committed to excellence.   We had an absolutely incredible experience touring India with Top Indian Holidays, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our journey took us through Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur, and every part of the trip was seamlessly organised from start to finish. The itinerary struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was, of course, a highlight, but the real standout moment was Ranthambore—where we were lucky enough to see tigers in the wild, something we’ll never forget. What really made the trip exceptional, though, was having the same driver with us throughout the entire journey.  ...Read More

On the advice of a friend we contacted Nand Singh Rathore at Top Indian Holidays in Jaipur. Nand worked with us and suggested a suitable tour over 5 days. We flew from Goa to Delhi and were met by our driver Ram Singh, whom stayed with us for the duration of the tour. Day 2 we visited the Taj Mahal with a very well informed local guide and spent 3 hours enjoying this special place. We then headed for Jaipur ( a 6 hour drive from Agra) stopping on the way at Chand Baori ( The Abhaneri Step Well). Day 3 in Jaipur we visited the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and the City Palace. We were also due to visit the Jantar Mantar but because of heavy rain and thunderstorms we missed this out. Day 4 we were picked up at our hotel for the 7 hour drive to Udaipur , stopping for lunch and comfort breaks on the way.  ...Read More
